I have some TC UCAs and the uniballs have started clunking so I need to replace them. They are 200 bucks on TC web site and 160 on ORW web site, granted I think they are a different brand/manf. They should still work, right? Anyone know the benefit of going with the TC ones? Only thing I could think of is peace of mind knowing its a direct replacement.

Bilstein 6112's 5th clip 1/4" spacer driver's side. Icon tubular UCA's with Delta joint, wheelers superbumps, ECGS bushing. Allpro standard leaf packs, 5160's, U bolt flip kit with wheelers super bump's, extended stainless steel brake lines, carrier bearing drop. Icon rebounds 17" with Nitto terra grappler G2's 285/70/17's.
Check out Icon's delta joint. A little expensive but they're working well for me.

Most UCA manufacturers don’t make their own uniballs and usually buy off the shelf parts to use in their arms. A common supplier is FK Bearings. You can buy replacement FK uniballs for around $60 from Wheelers and such. The “benefit” of going with a kit direct from the manufacturer is that they usually include the miscellaneous hardware for install like circlips. The FK kits don’t include those so you’ll have to reuse your current hardware or source new stuff yourself. I’ve replaced TC and Icon UCAs with FK bearings and never had an issue.

As a side note, if your uniball needs replacing, it’ll be worth it to replace the bushings as well. They’re often overlooked as part of maintenance and since you’ll likely be removing the UCA for this, just do it all at once.

yeah sort of leaning toward this.

What are the benefit to these?

In regards to replacing bushings, I have heim joints on my uppers and I just looked at them and they seem fine to me. But going off your point, my lowers are stock and I have not done any maintenance on those so might be worth it soon. I am just trying to avoid having to do an alignment. I have TC new ball joint tool which makes it so you dont have to actually remove the UCA.

The delta joints have articulation and strength similar to uniballs but they're sealed similar to a ball joint. Quiet too. Icon's version of the best of both worlds. They're not cheap though. I live in road salt country so I needed a sealed joint.

I think Icon makes different size delta joints for other UCA brands too. I don't think most people know just how much the upper ball joint limits articulation in these trucks. I would have chosen uniballs but winter conditions where I live would have eaten them alive.
