Need to resolve this issue

    I have a 2001 tacoma , runs rough for the first 20 mins ,than it clears out , I replaced the plugs and a coil pac ,only to have it run worse , I put the old pack back in and it ran better , There is a code 301 thst is indicated ,any ideas what could be the issue

    Did you check out the coil connector thingy? Maybe there's a pin missing.

    P0301 is a misfire code, in cylinder number 1. At least you have it narrowed down to a cylinder. That makes things easier!

    What does the coil look like? Any obvious damage? And the wiring running to the coil.

    I would try swapping coils around and see if your misfire moves from cylinder to cylinder. Make sure you keep track of where you put the coils though.

    Since it eventually clears up, it could be temperature related.
    Try cleaning the MAF sensor (on mine, it includes an intake air temp sensor).
    Could also be the coolant temp sensor.
