OK, thanks to everyone's patience and input, I believe I've worked my way through the myriad options available to lift our trucks. Although 98% of the threads relate to 4WD/3.5L trucks (mine is a 2WD 2.7L), I think I've found what seems to be a good compromise.

Further validation came from the new Toyota TRD lift kit, which seems to use some derivative of the 5100 in the front, an associated spring to reach the desired lift height, and a block in the rear. If Toyota engineers determined that 2" up front, and a 1" block in the rear would not compromise the existing stock suspension, then that works for me given that they're supporting it with the warranty. At least there was some engineering thought/testing behind it (I hope :D).

I can now see why the factory TRD kit can't be used with 2.7L trucks, because even with the OME 885 coils, there's a .5" difference in lift between the 2.7L and 3.5L models. I would imagine you could use this kit on a 2WD 2.7L truck, but you'd end up with 2.5" of lift in the front (and would need to replace the rear spacer with a 1.5" version), which seems to be beyond what Toyota feels comfortable with.

Anyway, all that said, here's my intended route:

    1. Front: 5100's set to "0," with OME 885 coils
    2. Rear: 5100's with a 1" block (Toytec? Eibach?)

    Does this look OK?

I have the same setup with OME 887 coils but Icon 3AAL in the back instead of a block. Your setup should be great for you.
