i intend to install a LED light bar in the rear window that will act as a aux. high brake light as well as left and right turn signals. I’m tapping into the fuse for the brake lights so that isn’t an issue but I need assistance connecting to the turn signals. What would be the best place to tap into the circuit? Was hoping to be able to make the connection point drivers side under the dash. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

    1F is much easier access:

I did the 1F thing and the hardest part was figuring how to release the plug but I finally did so. Since I still have it apart can the brake light circuit also be accessed at this plug?

No, but you can use the towing converter stop wire. Same area and separate harness.

It should be tuck away behind and up.

Well uploading a video for the 1st time is a major PITA. used the iPhone to create it then tried to unsuccessfully upload it to YouTube which didn’t work from my iPad. Then I had a compatibility issue using Google and had to download Firefox. I have written websites quicker Geez! Should’t be this difficult.

Used the standard squeeze with pliers wire taps. And with the help of other members here knew where to tie in. Power came in from a SwitchPro-9100 although any circuit might have been tapped for positive and negative. I had some multi-conductor wire hanging around, I believe it was 22 conductor that was run under the door sill plates. Those removable covers make easy work of running wiring. You only need a total of 5 wires to power this thing 2 for power in, 2 for the turn signals, and one for the stop circuit. I ended up having a LOT of extra wires for other mods.

I mounted it just above the rear seats so it points out the rear of the smoked rear slider. It’s not visible when it’s off but once the Tacoma is started it starts to scan back and forth in yellow. When the turn signals are used it looks incremental to let em know your intentions. When the stop is applied it flashed 3 or 4 times quickly in red and then stays constantly on until the brake is released.

I comes with a 4-button remote so you can choose your color of choice (stop is ALWAYS red) and the flash patterns are also adjustable. You can also turn the entire unit off with the remote.

Scanning gets a lot of attention as it reminds folks of the old Kitt car (i’m dating myself here on this one) My original intention was to mount it in the Sport hood scoop, but once I looked it over obviously it was not waterproof so we went to plan B instead.

Best part is it was only 15 bucks with free shipping. It did take a couple of weeks to arrive so if you want one quick don’t hold your breath.
