Quality wise I don't know that there's much of a difference and they all look pretty much the same. I had a black Aries one with the "skid plate" painted black. I put skid in parentheses because theyre super thin. Mine got bent by a pile of snow lol.

I had it on for a year and grew to hate it. I think my best mod to date was removing the bull bar. Ultimately its your decision if you like the look of it go for it. Just remember its just for looks as mentioned if you hit anything with any real speed its just going to push into your bumper and damage in. I'd check out the Avid bar as suggested. Much more expensive but look infinitely better IMO.

I've got a Westin... on my truck the bar is no where near the bumper and it's never rattled in the 5 years. Maybe your friend installed it wrong? The bars are usless for any protection but they're a good place to mount lights.

I don't like bullbars- they offer very little protection and look goofy. Someone mentioned Avidoffroad light bars- if you are looking for a light bar- I'd 2nd that opinion.

    You asked.

I think any bull bar looks retarded and ghey. Plus they are useless. If you can find a bull bar that you can put a rope on it and pull another truck out of the mud then it might be ok. But mostly they are lame.

    Lots to come
I'm really on the fence with bull bars...sometimes I think they look good and other times they look out of place.:notsure: I think they definitely look better with a lift and IMO black over chrome...If you like them....then go for it.

    Head unit. That's it.
I currently have a bull bar on my truck. I originally bought it because I needed more lighting at night but didn't have the cash for a nice plate bumper. Now that I have the lighting, I'm looking for either a dedicated light bar that connects through the bumper, or I'm gonna get a Relentless Fab bumper. Reasons: there is no real added protection. Weak mounting brackets make the lights bounce all over the place. Also they stick out really far. I don't like any of these attributes, now that I have one. Just my two cents.

I am not a fan of the bull bar personally. They are damage multipliers. I would go with a lightbar, even though they are not much better if you get in an accident. So, just get a full plate bumper and you will be fine

I was to busy watching OK beat WVU to look closely enough to see all the extras on the Avid.

Bull bars are pointless IMO... I've seen them actually just cause more damage to your truck than good. Like when the bull bar rubs against your stock bumper, or if you hit something with it, it just flexes into your stock bumper. So I think if your only reason for getting it is just to look cool, than hey whatever it doesnt actually look lame.. although you should paint it black. But if it was my truck I would just save and buy a real bumper

forgot about the "westin" lightbar(good catch hillbilly)...much better option than a bullbar.i had one on my 99 prerunner...i like the lower mount for aux lights..kept it on that truck for 11 yrs and never had a problem, but as i said before, there are much better, cleaner options these days than a bullbar.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
Damage multiplier...depends on the hit. With a ton of straight on force and several Bambi sightings, I'm glad I've got something up there.

Skip it. It's the fastest way to add rust to the front of your truck, the chrome is always cheap and pits super fast, more nooks and crannies to wash, weak and decreases your approach angle.
Other than that, some people think they "look cool"
