    I understand where you’re coming from but a reputable shop should never just “make do with what they have laying around”

    I wouldn’t even consider myself in the middle tier of good fabricators, but if my name is on that, (and the case is that they don’t have the correct materials) I tell the customer, “I’m very sorry I don’t have the correct materials to get the job done effectively and correctly at the moment. When I have all the necessary components to work with we will schedule you in for the job to be completed”

    That would be a pretty stupid excuse considering you can get enough steel for a cmc from Lowe’s or Home Depot in a pinch.

    agreed with all of you. I was just playing devils advocate. I did mean what if the cab mount was super jacked up so that was the limiting factor in how everything was done the Second time around. Again, agree with you all 100%
