Need your vin ran for diff recall ?

My Texas-made '16 TRD OR MT is in the clear ... 16K miles, probably 3K on dirt with a lot of that in 4 ... recently inspected diff and didn't see any weeping.

 

Same here. Built in Feb but I bought it March 3rd. Nothing came up.

 

If you have a manual and you are not on the list do you have any howl or any sort of noise when you feather the throttle?

 

Got an appointment next Saturday (5/6) to take mine in to be "checked". If it doesn't pass the test, the service manager said they'd have to keep it and give me a loaner since they don't have techs there to work on it.

I can live with that, I guess.

What are the limitations on hitting the lemon law? I mean, geez... first the transmission is 2 quarts low and now this?? Really??

I first noticed it on FoxNews and then came here to confirm. It's already out over most news channels... sorry, I don't visit MSNBC or CNN much, so I can't confirm there.

 

My '17 OR assembled in TX in January, didn't make the list.

There are no open Safety Recalls or Service Campaigns for this vehicle.

 

And toyota.ca/recall for us Canadians.

All the cars I have owned have had recalls except my 70 Buick and 93 Trans Am. Even though that Trans Am was a pile of crap it should have tons of recalls.

Recalls are just part of life at least they are taking care of it. Even my favorite 94 SR5 4X4 had the head gasket recall.

 

People are WAY over reacting to this. It's a fairly simple recall, need to relax a bit.

 

A good way to tell if Toyota is out front of the issue (i.e. Proactively) is if they caught this BEFORE any accidents happened that could result in deaths/dismemberment.

The difference will mean the difference between good PR and bad PR.
