    Hello,
First of all, sorry for cross-posting, but i'm desperate. I'm rebuilding my Icon's instead of sending them in because my truck is my daily driver and I couldn't afford to wait for them to be serviced.

All was going well, until I pulled the outer shaft seal from the seal head. The seal I removed is not the same as was provided in my IFP rebuild kit (Icon P/N 252010).

I have heard that some peoples kits included multiple seals for different shocks. I can't find anywhere on the web what the differences are, but if you have the YELLOW one pictured below and you did not use it in your rebuild, please let me know. Or, if you have any ideas where I can find one locally/quickly shipped from an online vendor, anything helps. Of course i'd call Icon but they're closed til Monday. I need a pair to complete my two front shocks.

The picture below is of 4 seals. The one I am looking for is the bottom left. The black one in the bottom right is what my kit came with that doesn't match what I need.

    Thank you for your help.

Too much to list, but enough to get me in trouble. Repeatedly.
    A few ideas...

If it's the rears you're rebuilding, you can drive around just fine without rear shock/s.
I drove from Stockton to East Bay without shocks, having just cut off the mounts at one fabricator so I could have another fabricator install taller shock towers. Or during my last shock rebuild when I discovered the shaft needed replacing after I had disassembled everything -- drove back and forth to/from King on one shock with no nitrogen.

Is it possible one of the seals in the kit would work anyway? Maybe not the right color or material, but fits and seals up just fine? Just temporarily until you can swap it out for the right one.

If the old seal isn't damaged and doesn' leak, you could re-use it. Temporarily or permanently, you decide.

See if someone nearby has a King seal kit. Shock manufacturers can be surprisingly similar in their components and design. Maybe there's an identical seal made by King.

If you live close to a place that rebuilds shocks, go there in person. Some places have someone at the shop after hours, often doing their own work. That person/s won't pick up the phone, but s/he might be there anyway. S/he could probably find a single seal or two.

I had this exact problem when I ordered the parts(same kit that you purchased) to re-build my non resi 2.5" coilovers. The seal will work and you'll be fine. I had a couple really small o-rings left over during my rebuild don't sweat it.
