Just had the dealer do the TSB on mine. I am at 70k but it was covered under my 1-year toyota certified used warranty. Grinding and vibration is gone, will see how it holds up.

Considering I had been in 4 times to dealer and and twice to tire shop and still had a vibration come and go and I was getting 15mpg and finished all my landscaping and was tired of lack of space, and now I have tons of room, smooth as eggs ride and 30+ mpg and it was about $8k cheaper I think I did it the right way for my situation. AND I know that was a long sentence

Me and other member did the ECGS bearing swap last weekend, easy swap and vibration is gone no need for hassling with toyota for a part that will likely fail again and be on my own the next time. Buy once cry once

So..... Ran some errands today. 'Might' have noticed a very subtle vibration in the 25-30mph range.

Going to keep an eye on it as time goes on in case my vibe is back...

For those who have not followed I had the official TSB repair.

Could be road conditions or just in your head. Hopefully its not the bearing.

Just went to pick up kids from school. A bit of 25mph driving. There is a subtle vibe there. But it isn't cyclical like it was before repair. It's constant. And it wasn't there yesterday or any day before.

Nice smooth roads around the school too. I think what changed is the fact that the roads ARE smooth now since we have had 40F for a couple days and things are melting off. Seeing asphalt again.

    We shall see.

Dropping off tomorrow at dealer for tsb fix. 74k, been grinding/howling only when cold since 40k ish. Covered under dealer lifetime powertrain warranty. I'll report back with results.

Dropped off at 7am...just called to get a status update...dealer is telling me their master tech can't get the old bearing out. It is seized.

I am having a hard time believing that, prob more like "doesn't have right tools" imo.

    We'll see.

Got the truck back...service advisor really had no idea so I quit asking questions. Invoice shows all 5 parts replaced for tsb...crawled under it, they definitely worked on it...however the axle is still loose inside of diff. Not much different than before.

The moment of truth will be tomorrow morning when I drive it after sitting all night...that's when it really growled.
