Have you tried or have you heard of locals trying? I bought in Duncan but would likely try locally (Nanaimo) first.

I purchase the TSB bearing and the old bearing and the ECGS bushing and did a comparo thread. In short, the TSB bearing is a needle bearing once again. It has a different manufacturer, has the same number of needles but the actual needles are shorter. The TSB bearing is the one going in the '16s.

I was completely unimpressed with it. However, in reality it will probably fix your vibes...for a while, maybe a long while. FWIW, I had all three types in hand when I did both sides of the diff recently and decided to go with the ECGS bushings once again.

I took my 2013 in to the dealer to have the TSB done. It's only been failing for the past 5000 kms or so and it's still very mild. When the tech took it for a drive, he didn't hear or feel it. He is familiar with the sound/vibe and we were humming to each other like a couple retards. He was confident that what I was describing was the needle bearing. He didn't hear it though to confirm the problem. I went for a drive with him and I couldn't hear or feel it either. Roads were a little wet, the pavement was a little more coarse in that area, and my AT2's make more noise than my MS2's used to - All of this will make it more difficult to hear but I usually still can. They won't repair it until they confirm the noise.

How do I make the noise more pronounced without waiting for another 10,000 kms for the CV to be worn and the noise to be worse? Is it usually louder or more pronounced when cold? under acceleration? turning slightly right or left? coasting? Any suggestions are appreciated. I hate wasting time going to the dealer.

Just took my truck to Miller Toyota in Manassas Va for the TSB replacement. They denied me because my truck is lifted.

Said even if my radio stopped working they wouldn't fix it under warranty because truck is lifted.

They also wanted nothing to do with a TRD S/C oil change even though they installed it.

I now remember why I don't go to the dealer for service.

seriously all, just do yourself a favor... the 60 bucks for the ECGS bushing which is PROVEN to fix the issue and is a MUCH better option for longevity that some sloppy needle bearing is well worth it. Its not worth your time and energy to fight with the dealer to get another needle bearing put in its place (which im very surprised it has SHORTER needles as that is the problem in the first place)

I have had mine [ecgs bushing] in for 21k miles with Zero vibes, and it INSTANTLY cured my vibes.

OZ-T, are you having issues with your Needle Bearing?
If so, just do the ECGS fix and call it good.

I have the ECGS bushing sitting on my desk. I was just hoping to get the TSB done for free and then sell the ECGS parts. Haven't used my extended warranty for anything yet :)

Oh I'm well aware. This is the 4th modified vehicle I've owned and I've never been denied service for an unrelated item.
