Damn I just bought the whole kit and kaboodle for this from ECGS. Over 200.00 clams. I would highly doubt Toyota would not put in the same crappy bearing that is already in there. Just like if they replace your wheel bearings that go all the time. I believe they put he same garbage right back in.

I still say let 'em do it, even if you go back the next day and install the bushing. At least this way, you can let Toyota deal with rusted bolts, or replacing CV damage.

This all the way. Plus, the cv will be freshly removed, so probably easier to remove for the ecgs bushing

Doubt that. But who knows. Try it out and see. If it works, I'll order mine and try that at the dealer

I ordered it just to have it. How will I know if I actually need it yet? I am only leveled out front at 1.75. But have heard any lifting means I will need it.

If you install the lift yourself, I'd do it anyway just to do it. You'll already be halfway disassembled. I wish I had known about it while I was doing my lift.

Mine has been lifted since October. Too late for me to do it.

You're probably fine then. Mine was lifted around June and I just started experiencing issues. But I'm also around 2.5"

did 1.75in of lift on the front of my truck... instantly noticed the vibe. Spent 60 bucks on the ECGS bushing and made my own bearing puller. took an hour and did it myself. Zero issues since.

I paid to have mine done. My vibe showed up as soon as I lifted. If you don't have the vibe, I wouldn't be in a hurry. Check out the 4x4 diff bearing vibe MEGA thread if you are unsure about the symptoms. I had my vibe for about 10 k miles and my mechanic said there was no wear on the axle - he even showed me the bearing and it looked fine too.

Shit. I thought it was a sticky. Looking for it...

So since this is a TSB, Toyota will replace the part even after warranty expires? I am lifting in the next month or two around Black Friday, and shortly after that my warranty will expire.

Just to clear things up for myself here...is this going bad before or after lifts? Or is it just a chance thing that is going bad either way? Planning on lifting in a few months and if it's going bad cause of lifts then I will just do it then.

So then they will replace it while I am stock before I lift, since I am under warranty? Or are they going to say the classic "cannot duplicate"? I was under the impression TSB's had to be done regardless.
