I'm waiting for my front axle to growl at me so I can fix it. :( I'll do the ECGS Bushing fix when it's time...

Can't believe Toyota took so long to acknowledge and address the issue...

I remember reading and commenting in the mega thread 6-years ago...

Can't believe it, they still haven't fixed the wheel bearing issues, leaf spring issues, vibrating passenger seat issue, rotting frame issues. And I'm sure a couple more could be mentioned. Yeah Toyota is real quick to fix something.

They at least replace the frames if bad enough, probably with the same frame though soooo...

    Ain't that the truth! :der:

Don't forget the frames on the 2016 are the same as the ones that we have from 2005 on

No way, are you serious?! That's just dumb. But the current recall is only for 2005 to 2008, so I figured maybe they somewhat fixed it

I guess only time will tell. As the newer trucks age, who knows. Might have been bad steel/corrosion resistant coating.

Yeah, I'm coating mine for the winter asap. This new frame has to last

Honestly, just do it before it begins, peace of mind, get it done at your leisure, and if you do it sooner than later you wont have to worry about the needle bearing eating at the CV causing you to replace the entire CV!!!

This^ my cvs are from 2005, so I probably gotta replace them soon anyway, but it will scar the cv overtime

A similar issue affected the '86 - '95 4wd's as well- Except the original part was a bushing on the hub side, Toyota had a TSB to replace it with a needle bearing on both hubs. Same symptoms- hubs locked in (or ADD), 2wd, you got the growl and vibration. Putting it in 4wd would eliminate it. There was also excessive play in the CV axles. This happened on both my '86 and '92.

Just had the needle bearing replaced today (TSB 4293) along with clip and axle seal, gaskets and fresh gear oil on my 2 month old 2015 TRD. So far so good...and the dealership was totally cool

I drove it home today from the dealership (no music blaring) and listened intently...couldn't hear or feel the vibration. So, so far so good...I hope this is the end of it.

Well I am guessing since I put 5100's in at 1.75 I have this issue as well. I can hear a slight wum, wum, wum. But with it being lifted I am sure Toyota will not do it for me
