They can't find anything wrong with mine. They even swapped wheels and tires and it was still there. I'm going to put the bushing in myself just to see if it helps.

Damit I shouldn't have read this thread. Now I'm kinda scared. Had my ome lift for two years. No vibes yet. But I only have to make it till tax return. Then I'll be ordering much much more expensive things from ecgs and I'll have them put that bushing in. Watch that dam thing start making all kind of noise now. I need to get my factory cv's rebuilt by cvj anyway. I have replaced both of mine with cheap aftermarket ones.

I dropped off my 2015 Tacoma 4x4 with 9,606 miles on it at Toyota this morning. I've been experiencing a very faint rumble strip type vibration from the foot rest on my driver side floor board for months now but only at 35-45mph. Didn't notice it when switching into 4H. (Truck purchased Feb 2015). I did have an OME Suspension System installed but pretty sure the vibe came first.

Anyhow, my Toyota dealer isolated the "grinding noise" as coming from the front diff. I was advised that Toyota does have a TSB (Toyota Service Bulletin) for this issue and they are ordering parts under that TSB.

    TSB #0026-15 (Tacoma/FJ/4Runner)
Dealer tells me this TSB uses modified/altered parts and not the original to solve the problem. Said the fluid sample they took looks clean. They don't see any metal, etc.

While it was in the shop I had them go ahead and do my 10k Toyota Care service since I'm so close. They put in my Mobile 1 Full Synth and a Fumoto Drain Valve for me. Should have my truck back today and will take it back in once parts arrive.

A lot of great info here. My truck (2009 TRD sport) has 106K I just had Bilstein 5100's installed and truck was leveled. Got the vibration/hum, I get it in intervals, around 30's and 40's MPH, last a few seconds, gone for 20 seconds. Today when I found this thread, I put it in 4WD, vibration gone. when I grab the left driveshaft, I can get a fair amount of play when moving fore/aft, or up/down. I would guess I am feeling that needle bearing slop?

Question is, is the needle bearing from Toyota improved, or should I go with the bushing?

Do the bushing yourself. You learn a lot about working on your truck in the process, and it's a known fix.

If you're paying for it, go with the bushing!

My truck has 6000 miles on it so I'll be playing the "fix my shit for free game" until the warranty runs out. The bushing seems to be a good deal and there isn't really any extensive data on the new bearing. BUT.... it was changed to this new bearing for a reason and if Toyota wanted to go with a bushing which would be cheaper anyways then they would have. FYI I'm a quality engineer for the company who makes all of the DC motors in the Tacoma. I deal with Toyota and Toyota design every day.

FYI I had the new TSB bearing installed and the truck rides smooth as glass with no more vibration. I hope it stays that way.
