Hello everyone, brand new to the forum. Here's my first post.. I have owned my 08' Taco for almost a year now and love it. Only have a few things about the truck...

It seems to have the "needle bearing hum" in the front and was wondering if anybody had the removal tool they dont need anymore? I plan on fixing this fairly soon. Let me know what you have.

Only other thing I can complain about is the slip yoke bind. Haven't dropped the drive shaft yet to check it out but it's on my to-do list.

    Any help is appreciated!

Hi, and welcome. I replaced mine with the ECGS bushing and did not use their removal tool. I used a rental tool from I believe O'reilleys. Pilot bearing puller I'm pretty sure it was called. Threaded onto a slide hammer. Used that, bearing driver kit, slide hammer. For CV removal I used a large pry bar. There is a ECGS bushing thread on here that is very helpful.

Did the bushing completely cure the symptoms your truck was having? (vibrations, hum, etc..)

Is this a repair you can do at home or do things have to be pressed at a shop?

Yes it completely solved the vibe/hum.

You can do this at home, no shop pressing necessary. There is a thread devoted to this issue, plus ECGS provides an installation guide.

I'm about 10k miles out from the repair, and no vibe or hum since, and I have cranked my coilovers up a little bit more since the bushing install.

Can't wait to get it done, my half hour commute drives me crazy with that f***ing hum. I just crank the tunes to drown it out :rockband:

I was hoping someone had this bearing puller I could buy off them instead of going through ECGS..
