I am going to transfer to a university this fall. Everyone rides bikes for transportation. I need one to get around but dont want to spend a lot of money since it might get stolen (its a big issue on the campus). Anyone know online websites or places in socal that sell sick bikes. I want a matte black one.

Getting a sick bike and worrying about it getting stolen does not make sense, at least on campus. I'd go to a big box store and pick up a cheap mongoose or something to ride around campus and paint it black.

If you are wanting a kick ass bike for when you are not on campus, out riding trails or something, then there are many more options. But I wouldn't put any real money into a bike that is for commuting on campus. The threat of someone stealing components is nearly unavoidable and not worth it.

Check out craigslist, or some other used place, a good used 10 speed is probably all you need and could be had for as little as $50.
