I am currently running a 2/1 leveling kit with 265/70R17 wheels on a 2022 a Tacoma. I am looking to upgrade my TRD wheels to a negative six offset. Will this affect my bearings or suspension?

I’ve been running a -10mm offset for about 2 years and have zero issues.

    Tires are LT265/75/16.

I've been on -38mm offset for 5 years now. Changed out front wheel bearings once in that time frame, albeit they were the oem bearings from 07. You'll be fine.

Every modification you make to your vehicle will affect it in some way. Negative offset wheels will put more strain on your wheel bearings, CV axles, suspension, etc. because there is more leverage on the components. Nobody will be able to tell you how much these things will be affected because there are a million different factors, and personal anecdotes are only a small sampling that, unless they are 100% apples to apples to your use case (which they aren't) only give you a rough idea of what the increased maintenance is like. If you want maximum longevity of all OEM components, keep everything OEM. Reliability drops the second you modify any OEM components (in general).

That said, this is an enthusiasts forum, and many of us enjoy the tradeoff of reliability for mods that make us enjoy our trucks more. Maybe your wheel bearing goes out at 150k miles on -6 offset wheels instead of 200k miles on OEM wheels. Nobody knows, besides maybe Toyota, assuming they test different offset wheels to find the most desirable characteristics in a wheel to use as OEM that plays nice with all of the other OEM components.

I do often wonder what the maintenance is like on the full size trucks that follow the brodozer trend of super wide wheels on crazy negative offset wheels that stick out 6" from the fender with rubber bands for tires. I'd imagine they go through wheel bearings more often than stock trucks.

Going from a stock +25/+30 offset to a -6 offset won't likely make a significant difference, but know that it will make some difference.
