Wanted help before I accidentally blow my truck up:

I have a 2006 Tacoma and I am wiring Ditch Lights using a fuse tap to power the positive wire. In the photo below am I correct assuming this is a negative terminal to attach my negative wire from the lights?

If this answer is elsewhere, lmk and I’ll remove this thread!

The stud you have circled is a main power feed.

For a ground you would want any metal part of the body, frame, engine, or battery negative (-)

There's factory ground points on either side of the engine bay bolted to the fenders.

So I connected the fuse tap in the fuse box in the engine bay and the negative terminal to the ground wire, but the lights continue being powered and on when the vehicle is on (and obviously only when the light switch is on)

Any idea on how to make the lights tun off when the vehicle is off? The lights use a 15amp fuse.

You'll need to use a test light to locate a fuse location that's on the ignition circuit.
