Just want to chime in here. I have a second gen but my experience is more than relevant for this thread. My first Tacoma had a 3in lift on 32's. Traded in for an Off Road, did a 6in lift on 35's. For those of you who say there is no benefit for a 6in lift obviously have either never had one or never take your truck off road, because its just not true! I wheel the SHIT out of my trucks, climbing, mud, river crossing, minor rock crawling. Had all kinds of clearance issues with the 3in lift, after trading up, went back to the same trails with the 6in lift truck and crawled right through with no problems what so ever. Ive wheeled with other Tacomas with 3in lifts and they were rubbing and bottoming out on everything, tearing panels off, etc, etc. A 6in lift gives you 3in MORE LIFT than a 3in lift, if you cant do the math. Granted, with a drop bracket lift you dont get much more clearance at the front bracket and rear diff, other than what the bigger tires give you, but the rest of the truck is 6 inches higher everywhere else than stock, and clearance at the bracket and diff are not as important as the rest of the truck, especially with skids. My truck also handles great on the highway, and is in no way "wonkie" or prone to roll, and I even removed my sway bar. There are a lot of opinions here that are stated as fact which needs to stop

Absolutely!! All the Negative comments come from people who don't have any experience or knowledge of these trucks! (Like asking a Blind man what his favorite Porno?):annoyed:

I've had 2" lift, 6" lifts, Total Chaos UCA, Camburg UCA, Light Racing UCAs, Fabtech lifts, ProComp, etc......
My current truck only has a 2" lift that's because I need to go into parking garages. And some of the trails I go have low roof clearances.
Otherwise I would absolutely do another 6" lift!:broccoli::kona:
Only thing that would be better is a LT kit! (But that moves the front tires outwards too much to be a daily driver)

Never accept advice from someone who has never done it before!! Because they don't know :crapstorm:.

    True Story!

Those are some sweet rides! I always liked the MT 39X18.5.

If I would do it over again, I'd do a quality 6" lift with adjustable coilovers and UCAs
I personally think it's an incredible look. I have no intention of beating my truck up offroad.
Biggest downfall?....resale value goes in the toilet. Majority of peeps hate drop bracket lifts and the cross member is compromised.
