You guys think it would be possible to swing a negotiation on this Tacoma? I see a lot of added equipment I don’t want, and the destination and handling fee seems high.

I don’t expect to get a deal for the truck, but I would really prefer to get it down to around the base price before all the added equipment and stuff.

    so ~$43,000 would be cool

    Chances/thoughts?

IMG_2889.jpg IMG_2891.jpg IMG_2890.jpg I bought mine last Thursday. MSRP was $47750. Got $26000 for my DCOR with 46K on the clock. Dealer came off $750 to $47000 before TT&L. If you finance through the dealer I think they might do better but I paid cash. I guess I'm lucky to get that much off because I was leaving with that bad boy, and did. No regrets. It was the only truck/car on the lot without a rebate.

$4k off the hottest Tacoma you could buy...

    Possible? Sure, anything is possible.

Probable? Not a snowballs chance in hell. For that bad boy, you'd be lucky to walk away at $46k.

It’s all about supply and demand in your area. Your paying MSRP at a minimum here. A 2020 Pro is a hot commodity right now, especially in Army Green.

I paid MSRP for my M/T Pro, but I had a minor inside connection with the salesperson I worked with, and I ordered from the factory. Every other dealership in the area wanted a little to a lot over MSRP.

Oh, and he comped me the mud flaps, because they weren't on the configuration I ordered and I was putting on Rekgens anyways.

Everything will be dependent on your dealership and the demand for the truck. In some locations dealers are tacking on mark-ups but most seem to be somewhere around MSRP. I was able to negotiate about $1500 off accessories of the cost of my AG Pro and I also qualify for the $750 military discount. The delivery and processing fee on your sheet is $30 higher than what I'm paying - it's all area dependent. It never hurts to negotiate but I would guess that getting to $43k or under will be a stretch...but good on you if you can get it!!

I'm waiting for delivery of mine right now - it's somewhere in transit - and my VIN is only about 200 lower than the one on your spec sheet.

Call the dealership and ask to speak with their internet salesman, offer the $43k and see what happens.

Especially depending on what region you live in, but getting it at MSRP would be a win for most with all the ADM being floated around there. Especially since you're going after a probably one and done pro color as opposed to the white and black that is a mainstay throughout the years.

That's the total of the items listed above that number (Predator steps, mud flaps, etc).

Yup, it’s all based on supply and demand. I noticed Ford Raptors in my area that were going for $10-15k over sticker are now selling for under MSRP. The redesigned 2021 F150 is just around The corner as well.

Yup same thing is happening by me with all the Chevy Tahoes and GMC Yukon's since they unveiled the new gens. Same thing is going to happen with the 4Runner, Tundra and Sequoia as the time gets closer.

Start lower than $43K if you want to end up there.

There might be some room in the price because of the dealer items that have been added on, but the dealer will not take off the extras put on since the dealer already paid once to put them on the truck. They might eat the profit in the extras but I doubt it. They know the truck is highly desired while some dealers will add straight added dealer mark-up for extra profit, other dealers stick a bunch of high price, low cost accessories on the truck to conceal a little profit or to build in the ability to give a little discount without really discounting the actual truck.

You can always try to price shop multiple dealers on what you want but dealers tend not to play pricing games with vehicles they will have a hard time getting and an easy time selling.

Dealers also swap vehicles between dealerships all the time to get in stock specifically what a customer wants, but not typically in demand vehicles since they know they can sell them relatively easily off their own lots and they do not receive a ton of them from the Toyota.

Extremely rare a dealer will sell under msrp for a rare color that is is crazy demand. But you never know.
