i'm with most everyone else, you are not crazy, idiot neighbors that dont rationalize need to learn at somepoint

sucks ur having to shell out ur own money but i woulda done the exact same thing, except i woulda gone to higher extremes if it upset me that much

yes to cameras, yes to higher fence, yes to no trespassing, and if hoa allows it , put up even more stuff.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
Costco or Sam's Club has a wireless video system for a couple of hundred dollars.

Call the Police (non emergency number) every time you see them on your property so the incident is recorded with the Police and they will send Officers around to talk to them (and build a case against them)

Charge them with trespassing if it doesn't stop.

Take photos of any damage to your Home or lawn in case you have to sue the neighbors to repair it.

At this point don't get mad, get even.

P.S. I'd call the cops about his Harleys exhaust, too. Noise ordinance, you know.

Oh, just info, I don't have an HOA. I refuse to live somewhere that is part of one.

I have the same problem....unfortunatley its my son and his buddies playing baseball in my yard. I have aluminum siding, it looks like its been through one hell of a hail storm from the balls hitting my house. :D

But, I know where he's at.... and that hes not on some corner somewhere doing something wrong, and I will miss it when he's gone. OP.. I agree with you...I would never let my son do that to other peoples property. But on the other side, your views change on whats inportant when you have children.

I have had a lot of friends go through this and the hard fact is there is little you can do but to tolerate the stupidity of others while looking into the future. Do what is reasonable, which it sounds like you have done so far with fences, shrubs and talking all the while try to save and do better on your next house. Court is not worth your time or energy, trust me.
Growing up my family put in a pond in our backyard and our back neighbors complained that the pump was making too much noise (they were the only ones out of 5 total neighbors we shared a property line with). One day we found a composite box covering the pump, we let it go. Then they decided to erect a shed directly against the fence, going against building code with must allow 18" between any fence and structure for rain runoff to avoid rotting the fence so we reported them to the building inspectors after which they received a sizable fine for erecting a structure without a permit and not following code. When my parents could they moved out of the state and bought 5 acres out in the sticks of OR just to get away from people, this is my plan as well seeing as how much people suck.

I think you guys are perfectly fine doing this. Sounds like the neighbors have no respect for you which is bullshit. If you catch them cutting your shrubs down or poisoning them that can be taken up with the police but you have to have proof they did it. I am sure somewhere in the book of laws, they can be charged with trespassing but that would only open up a whole other can of worms between you guys.

In texas I do believe that if someone is breaking into your private property you have the right to shoot em right on the spot. Now I'm not saying you should pull a gun on the kiddos, I'm just trying to bring some humour to the situation :D.

If I'm wrong about that law, someone correct me lol.
