I'm kinda old school in this regard, but have you went over and nicely asked them to not rev their engine in front of your house??? The way I was raised, this was step #1 to solve any neighborhood disputes.

Or run outside when they go by and give them one of these:D[IMG] but really, if you went to their door and nicely asked about it ^^^as stated above, that would probably be best. If after that they keep doing it, well then they just became instant jerkoffs. As John Lennon said "give peace a chance".

Are you convinced it's a neighbor (ie caught in the act)? Could be someone from outside the neighborhood who did it and found your system was sensitive, and is doing it out of spite?

One truck lives in the neighborhood (lifted dodge ram diesel), otherwise i can't recognize the other vehicle. Some car with a fart can.

    Hey Bro,
I'm a mobile electronic specialist. Even if the shock sensor is built in it should have a sensitivity setting that can be adjusted via programming.
If I were you I would take it back to where you had it installed or another place that knows their stuff and explain the issue you are having, they should have a solution for you.
As a last resort I would mount the alarm brain to another part of the vehicle that does not allow the same transfer of vibration.

If you need specific help because you want to deal with this yourself I am more than happy to help, pm me and I'll get you my number.

I like how people are seriously recommending moving as a solution here.... "ya im new to the neighborhood... kids kept setting my trucks alarm off so i had to move to the country"

It's definitely some kinda install issue that can be fixed... this isnt a regular problem. I will say, however, that i purposely excluded the alarm from my new truck, and just got remote start only. too much hassle of it going off when it shouldnt (shutting the tailgate mainly). Plus, my viper R/S has the "blinking blue light" so it looks like an alarm... which is some form of security.

Keep in mind we're only hearing one side of this story. Neighbourhood disputes usually have three sides to the story...Party A's version, Party B's version, and the truth...

If your alarm is so sensitive that passing cars set it off, you NEED to turn it down or someone is going to make a sound complaint against YOU! Years ago when I was active duty Army in Ft Lewis, we had a field day when the C-5's would fly over our parking lot. All the hood rats had these super sensitive viper alarms. Every time a C5 went overhead, 40 car alarms would go off. This was happening 7-10 times a day. It didnt take the owners long to realize novelty of a super sensitive alarm wasnt worth the constant siren going off all the time.

I have turned the sensitivity down several times already. It it almost at the point of being ineffective. I've had 3 other cars with shock sensors, and have been able to adjust them to the right point. This one I am having issues with. :(

I haven't faced them yet, and most likely will not. I don't think I will accomplish anything confronting them, and it may cause more problems. :boink: The less disputes I get in, the better.

I'd shove a potato up his exhaust in the middle of the night. Problem solved.

Plus it could be where your sensor is placed. In a confined box it could reverberate and make it worse.
