I have narrowed my search for my first upgrade to my Tacoma. I am looking at these step bars.

    http://www.runningboardworld.com/5-railway-black-step-tubes.aspx
    http://www.runningboardworld.com/n-fab-cab-length-nerf-bars-toyota-tacoma-double-cab-2005-2009.aspx
Does anyone have any inputs (I do realize what I just asked)? Seriously though any real inputs welcome. I like the step on the n-fab. I am a little concerned the extra step might be to low or stick out to wide. Thoughts?
The 5" oval looks really nice. I would like to know how the nerf step actually holds up.
    Thanks
    Brian

    I have a Black 2013 DBL cab, SR5, 4x4

You could find a good set of sliders around that price range, and they will last a long time. Nerf bars rust out pretty quick and can cause a lot of damage off road. Don't know how tough Nfabs are, but they look like they could get you hung up

Are you lifting your truck and if not do you really need them. I went with the amp power steps cause I don't like the look of the steps hanging down plus my truck is lifted. I found that before I lifted my truck didn't really need them.

That is a great shot. Thank you.
I'm leaning towards the railways. Maybe this weekend.

I have the N Fab side step for about 6 years now, and so far I didn't see any rust. But it does hang a little low when you go off roading and especially if your truck is not lifted like mine.

But it's pretty solid, there's no sway and it's bolt on. Easy to assemble. And like the other person said, my wifey likes it bec she can get up the truck easier than before. And surprisingly, even if it is raining the steps are not slippery.

I have the N-fabs and like the look. The powder coating looks good and should keep the rust away. I'm always looking for rust under the truck so I don't have a problem if I see a spot here or there - a little touch up and you're good to go. I don't off-road so no sliders needed. As has been posted, the wife appreciates the N-fabs. Good luck.

My N Fabs are two yrs old and have a ton of rust on them. Trying to get N Fab to take them back. I might just Rustoleum them instead

If you have Amazon Prime - you can get them for less than the site you have listed

Wife has trouble getting into and out of the 'ole Taco, so I had to get something to help her out...the Smittys ARE the same as the N-Fabs - they even say "N-Fab" on each of the steps so don't let the Smitty name fool you

I've only had them a couple of months so I can't attest to their durability but I do think they look awesome
