Working on my 2006 tacoma v6 automatic 4x4 I had to replace my neutral safety switch due to a non starting issue and a p0705 engine code. Getting the old one off was a struggle in the process it popped out of park a few times into neutral as I was prying against the old switch. I put the new switch on and I am having problems getting it adjusted. Only the N and R light up on the dash no matter how I try to adjust it. (All Dash lights were working before I swapped out the switch)

Is it possible that shaft that turns was in the wrong position before i put the new switch on ?

    thanks for any info

I don't think it's possible to rotate the switch that far without breaking it.

Did you verify there are no bent/broken/corroded pins in the connector and no broken wires near the plug?
