I'm upstairs in the exploration department, usually at Emigrant or North Area though. Our GIS guy was raving about your truck today. Trying to convince him to trade in his ridgeline for one :)

Well...I somehow blew both my rear 5100s...oil leaking like a sieve from both. I had planned on these only being temporary, but had hoped to get more life out of them.

So over the weekend I installed Icon 2.0 remote resi rears. I just could not justify the price on the Kings or BP 51s. Plus the kings and foxes that I could find were all too long for my mild 1-1.5 inch lift. I also dropped the axle and added a 3 degree shim because I was getting some strange driveline Vibes after installing my rear lift. I'll report back after I get some miles on the shocks with my impression.

Holy crap! Maybe just couldn't handle the awesomeness...

How easy was the shimming? I'm probably going to be doing the same since I've been in vibe heaven since moving to dakars...

It was pretty straight forward. Drop axle, remove center pins, install shim and new center pin, reassemble. Only issue I had was I somehow while removing one ubolt stripped the threads????? No idea how it happend since the nut was already tight, and I was just backing it off to remove???. Either way I have a new ubolt on the way to replace it.

3 degree steel shims. Bought them from Wheelers Off-road.

Were the shafts super pitted at all? That's what happened to my Icons, pitted so bad it tore the seals up. So I put the cheesy old rubber shock boots on them and never had another problem, I'd suggest it on the new shocks.

    I will have to look.
The Icons came with rubber boots. So I should be good there.

It's weird to blow them out so quick. Have you spent much time blowing down washboards.

Have you gotten any farther planning the trans nevada trip?

I hope this wasn't asked and answered earlier (read thru the thread and didn't see it). What is the height of the CBI overland bars above the bed rails?

    Sweet build by the way!

You still liking your CBI Overland Bars?

I was looking into bedracks and stumbled on these pictures. This seems like it will fit my needs perfectly.

Can you/Have you mounted anything to the sides with quickfists? It looks like those holes can be used to bolt stuff on.

@nevadabugle did you use a store in town that sells quickfists or order online?

I run the CBI bars with an RTT.... Kinda wished I spent more money for a taller rack (kb voodoo or allpro), so I could mount a rotopax/shovel.

You can quickfist a shovel to the side but would need a long handle one
