Yeah it's 3 weeks because they're prototyping a new high clearance bumper for the 3rd gen. If you recall I smashed up my quarter panel and I either need to have some body work and paint done or install high clearance bumper and just cut off the lower part of the quarter panel. I opted to go with the latter and CBI was nice enough to use my truck to prototype the new bumper so they'll be cutting off my quarter panels and building a bumper for me.

Did you notice a big loss of MPGs when you went to the Duratracs? What're you currently averaging?

I only had the stock tires for one tank of fuel so no real baseline. I got 17 to 21 just like advertised when the only mod I had was the tires. I noticed a hit when I put on the RTT and the roof rack and leveling lift. Currently if I stay under 65 I can get 18 to 20 depending on terrain. if I stay around 75 I get 16 to 18 depending on terrain.

Thanks! I think these are the route I'm going to go for tires. Being from the desert also our needs are very similar. It's just a matter of time before these stock tires take a rock the wrong way.

I've got 20k on my Duratracs . they are holding up well. only one flat so far and that was a sidewall puncture by some sort of steel bar that was buried along a trail I was driving.

Nothing for the moment. I think I'll eventually get a LoPro style front bumper from c4 fab or @RelentlessFab . but suspension will be next before I do that.

That bumper looks awesome. Were you able to keep the factory towing wire harness setup?
Also, I have heard of Ruby Mountain outside of Elko, what is it like? I have wanted to head that way to camp out there but I haven't been able to find much information about it.

Yes. The factory plug is in the left side of the liscence plate. It just gets moved over.

The Rubies are great. lots of wilderness on the north end only accessible from a few trail heads. The south end has lots of BLM and Forest Service access.

Awesome thank you. Are there any books that you recommend to get more info about the area? I have plenty of gear to do desolate camping. Any specific camp grounds/areas that you recommend?

Lamoille canyon is a must. paved road to the top but lots of beauty and several developed camp grounds and trail heads to the majority of the Alpine lakes. if you like remote try Soldier Creek Trailhead. if you want to Drive to a lake Angel Lake is beautiful albeit you will see people. If you want real remote but less alpine beauty head South of Harrison Pass.
