Great. Thank you again. At what point in the year does that area become impassable due to snow? I am driving thru Elko Christmas week and was thinking of taking a little detour to see what Lamoille Canyon is like.

Its just depends on the year. but my guess is by Christmas the road will be closed part way up. Remind me and I can take a drive up and see where it is shut down.

Sweet. Does it get busy out there during the high season? I try to avoid places like Yosemite where it is a trap for tourists.

I was wondering if that was you. Yeah I definitely need some rear suspension work. I have made up my mind that the wheelers Offroad 5leaf HD pack are in my near future. I ran them on my second gen and liked them. I think with the weight in the rear it will sit about an inch above stock. Might be about perfect with the 5100s for the time being.

I ran OME HD Dakars on my second gen with the rack rtt and loaded down and never had any issues aside from occasionally hitting the bumpstops through dips at higher speeds. I had Icon mid travel up front and it sat pretty level.

I am just afraid the Dakars will put me too high in the rear. I have 5100s in the front set at .85 and I do not really want to go higher in the front.

You could always remove a leaf or 2 and then add them back in as you modify the front height.

So far just a tailgate light bar and replaced the backup lights with LEDsl Eventually I'd like to put a topper on it but not many options out there yet. I'm leaning towards a Hi-rise type just for the room. But then again it would be nice to keep the truck in the garage :)
Nevadabugle, what LED light bar did you put behind the lower grill?

Where did you get your array of head liner switches?

If you go to the first page of his thread you can find the answers there. I know the LED bar is Cali Raised and the switches should be on that page as well.

I just was reading this thread regarding your modifications and realized that nobody commented on your wife's awesome Bull!! Very nice, and I assume with a recurve, so doubly impressive. Must be really great to have all that cool country in your 'back yard'.

Thanks Man! Yes, with a 46 pound Recurve. She is a killer for sure. I kept tabs on this bull all summer and she had good enough luck to catch up with him on the third day of the hunt. He is a stud of a bull, with his broken third he goes mid 370"s if he had not broken he would have been about 383". She did good and I am super proud of her.

Well. It became obvious that the weight in the back with the new bumper and the tent and rack was too much. And although I would love a full replacement pack with Christmas and a new job starting I decided to go the cheap route and added a wheelers Offroad 3 Leaf pack today. It got dark before I could finish but I'll post pictures tomorrow. An initial measure it raised the back an inch and three eights. I'm sure it'll settle some but it should be enough to get the rear higher than the front.

Ok build thread followers I have a problem...
After my 3 leaf progressive add a leaf install my steering wheel is now slightly off center? truck drives fine (no pulling, drifting, or wandering) but the steering wheel is slightly off to the right while driving straight.

I measured from the axle to the front of the spring connections on both sides and it was about a 1/4 inch off. If I measured from the tire to the front of the wheel well it was 5/8 off. Soooo, I jacked her up again loosened the u bolts and tried to shift everything back in alighnment. I got the measurements from the axle to the spring connections to be within a 1/16th but the difference between tire and wheel well is still off by 3/8 to a 1/2 inch. The steering wheel seems a little better but it is still off.

What the fuck am I doing wrong? Any suggestions? this is driving me nuts.

    Hopefully this makes sense.

I know for some suspension setups the front end driver side will have a little bit more in it to compensate for the weight of the driver.... again wild thought, but could the leaf pack be different for driver and passenger side?

That makes swnse. although I'm positive that the AAL set up I bought is not side specific.

Again I could be very wrong, but that's the one thing I can think of. My knowledge level when it comes to that specific setup though is very low.
