I actually use it fairly often when camping. Helps reduce any movement of the truck when up in the RTT. But I know they are known to stick in cold weather in these trucks. Was wondering if that might have happened to you

Nope was not the issue, simple lack of maintenance was the problem.

The Billies in the front are not going to last, with an 8 - 10 week lead time on the shocks I want up front. Decided I needed to order them now.

The 2.5 DC RESERVOIR model allows precise fine-tuning of the high-& low-speed compression damping so you can adapt the suspension for your specific driving style and terrain conditions without compromise. It also features an external reservoir with increased oil volume for cooler operating temperature, providing better performance and consistency.

This configuration is for use exclusively with aftermarket lift kits or upper control arms to accommodate between 2 in. to 3 in. of lift.

Ride height is preset from our factory at approximately 2.5 in. of lift at the front for most setups, actual ride height may vary depending on wheels dimensions and lift kit or upper control arms used.

    ADJUSTMENTS
    • Spring Preload
    • High-Speed Compression
    • Low-Speed Compression

    TECHNICAL FEATURES

    • Massive 2.5 in. (56mm) hard-anodized aluminum body for cooler operation
    • Big bore design with less restricted oil flow for increased responsiveness and less fading
    • Internal hydraulic valving optimized for each vehicle platform
    • Built from CNC-machined and forged aluminum parts, aluminum bodies and premium-quality internal components
    • External remote reservoir with low-friction floating piston (1:1 ratio vs. main piston) providing additional cooling
    • DOT high-flow reservoir hose
    • Heavy-duty 3/4 in. (19mm) induction-hardened shaft
    • Triple sealing system with dust wiper, high-pressure step-seal and premium quality o-ring
    • Direct, bolt-on replacement that uses stock shocks location
    • Proprietary ultra-low friction, light viscosity semi-synthetic oil blend, ultra-resistant to high operating temperature
    • Coilover models use Elka’s durable high-tensile alloy springs or Eibach springs (depending on model & configuration)
    • Fully rebuildable using affordable replacements parts and springs, multiple replacement valving shim stacks available

    Now the wait.

The container has been placed exactly where I wanted it :bananadance:

Only 1 fence post had to lay down its life in the line of duty today. It stood right back up when I bent it back, I was surprised.:bananadead:

Of course the USAction trax had to get involved. As you can see from the first 2 images, when he pulled in he stopped the truck and got out.

Surgeon 'Nope she is not going to go back there.':notsure:
Me 'Just a second I have something for this' :militarypress:

With the recovery boards down and stacked a bit, it corrected the lean on the truck. He was happy with that.

That house it is making love to is not mine. So this was pretty nail biting to say the least.

I will take some pics tomorrow of its exact ending placement, was in a rush to get to work could not get all the pics.

@Shveet ok so yes I am going to use the hi-lift to put pallets under each corner. So it does not sink into the yard.

I dont plan on it being dangerous, but the hi-lift can always surprise you :boom:

Been working on moving everything. Lots of the house is in the shipping container already, tomorrow I will take some pics. Got my straps today, I want to use to hold the shelves in place. I think its going to work out great.

Today was wood day, I have a ton of firewood that I have collected. Got it all moved, it was 2 truck loads to make the new full pile. It will get piled nicely as I split the logs.

Had to make a little log puller rig with a tarp and my scoop shovel. Worked great to get it out of the back of my yard and upto the truck

Moving the shipping container into the yard at -20C was a little more than the action trax wanted that morning.

They took some damage. Only 1 exploded, the others are all still usable.

USAction trax is the best company ever, validated my warranty AGAIN. Got new ones.

Last night Jeremiah managed to have time to help me finish fixing up the brakes.

After I ran the brake system dry, there was air trapped in it. Bleeding the system was not correcting the issue.

The problem was it felt like bubbles behind the pedal or kind of flutter, and the ABS pump would cycling if you pushed hard on the brakes. ABS would not come on, but the pump would cycle.

This document has all the instructions to fix it.

    http://www.ttguide.net/brake_fluid_for_hydraulic_brake_booster_-473.html

Step 4 is where the you need to have the TechStream software. :annoyed:

Loaded it onto an old Dell Inspiron mini 1012 that I have and was not using, so now I have a dedicated TechStream rig :cookiemonster:

It worked perfect. We may have to go through steps 3 and 4 again, if it comes back.

Last night the drive home from the shop the brakes were right back to normal.:yay:

House reno's and putting it up for sale are going along great. Signed with a real-estate agent this weekend, pushed her to a 3 month contract. Sell it NOW! is what I kept saying at the meeting. :bananadance:

Some old carpets have been removed, nice(cheap) laminate flooring has replaced it. Made the house look so much better.

Final step is painting the entire place white on the inside, the old paint was just that, old.

With the new flooring in the living room, and new paint it is really going to make the house pop for everyone interested in buying it.

Rather than how it looked before, which was just bad.

Couple hundred doll hairs now, will hopefully make a few thousand on the end game of the sale. :fingerscrossed:

As @Shveet said, I should go on and on about them in here now!

The Elka 2.5 DC w/reservoir's have been installed on the front.

Small issue with the ARB bumper bracket and reservoir mount over lapping. Fixed with cutting and re-enforcing.

Now to learn all the small aspects of how to get them on and setup correctly. Like ensure they reservoirs are rotated the correct way, when you secure them. :annoyed:

Only made tiny contact when I backed out of the shop, but scared the shit out of me.

    Unbelievable upgrade.

@tacoma16 said the correct term is 'On Rails'. That is how the rig drives now. So smooth and responsive. :bananadance:

1st rip was yesterday, went flawless. We plan on going out again tomorrow, for a Birthday rip. Spend the day messing around having fun with the truck all day.
