I change mine out on my 2nd gen every 1,000 miles which comes out to around every 6-9 months. Even then the Mobile One synthetic is very dark... most likely from short trips and occasional offroading / towing boat.

I change my oil once a year and put the old oil in the bottle for my neighbor.

He puts my used oil in his 2001 chevy 5.3 Tahoe. It has almost 350k and has only been using my used oil for the last decade.

His truck runs fine and will of course, still out pull my puney Toyota motor.

Burning oil after 100k is the next owner’s problem

Oh man. My last OCI was 20,200 miles...oddly enough, it was full when I drained it. Maybe the oil fairy had been topping it off without my noticing. I'm waiting to hear from Blackstone. I hope my truck starts when I go out to it. Kinda worried now...

I can't wait until my truck starts to burn oil. Then I'll only have to worry about changing the filter

    Jesus, not even Friday yet.

Just add a quart every 1000 miles and you'll be golden.

    Ya. It's not rocket appliance.
I don't see many Tacoma's in the junk yard because of engine failure. I don't see many Tacoma's in the junkyard, period. That's why I bought my 1st one, 20 years ago.
Rangers were all over the used lots and Tacomas weren't.

    Nothing.
You just keep driving it until you “HAVE TO” do an oil change.

He’s probably a member here on TW.
There are a lot of guys here that know “so much”.
However, just because you know it. Doesn’t mean it’s right.

For the record. I’m usually wrong.
Don’t take my advice. Do what you want.

    That’s what I do any ways……..
I change my oil when I want, not when TW tells me too.
