I went from a super crew F150 to my DCSB Taco. The F150 was a Lariat and had everything in it. My Taco is not a normal setup for them, thats what I have been told. It is a 6 speed trd off road. The only thing that was a little to get use to was the size. The cab in that F150 was so big compared to this truck. The power is less but with the 6speed it feels fine to me. This is not my first Taco and I have always loved them. F150s are just cheaper and you can get a lot more truck for less money with the fords. I have towed anything and thats also why I traded my f150. I sold my trailer. But I have seen them tow a good amount before.

    Good luck man!
I might be trading in my PreRunner for a 4x4 this weekend. Just some thought if you think you want a 4x4.

Good luck, let us know how the deal goes. I think the truck will suit your need/use.

I think this is true for most states. Like I stated before, CA resale for trucks carry a premium. 4x4 even harder to find for sub $20K although $23k-$25k will get you an older DC 4x4 here. I'd say 2011+ for a DC 4x4 under 100k miles, you'd be looking at least $28k here. It's just how it is.

I live in San Francisco and I just bought the IDENTICAL truck from a private party. I paid 18,500 and it has more miles and didn't come with a shell. I priced that shell and was quoted I believe $2700 installed. In California these trucks are ridiculously priced. I would say that's a good deal. I scoured Craigslist everyday for a month and that was the best deal for a DCLB.

OK GUYS!!!!i bought it! absolutely in love with it. I got it out the door for 20,500. they would not budge any lower and i did not want to leave without it. They are also replacing both front headlight assemblies on their dime. They filled the tank with gas, washed it, and gave me a free future oil change. Excited to be a part of the tacoma scene. I have named my tacoma "Rhino." the 17" wheels have a picture of an awesome looking rhino on them so i thought it fit well. Thanks everyone for the kind words and input i really do appreciate it. And yes, in so cal, these trucks command a premium

Great job. I really think that you got it a good price for being in CA. I had a feeling that they were only going to move down to $20.5K since they were quick to say that they will sell to you for $21K. You basically got the truck around $18.5K and OEM headlights aren't cheap so good move on having them replace that for you. For the oil change, I'd skip that at Dodge. I was actually contemplating of looking at that truck for my dad if you didn't buy it.

Now that you have it, I'd look at maintenance items:
    1) Tranny Fluid service
    2) Rear axle fluid change
    3) Coolant Flush
    4) Brake Fluid flush
    5) Check Spark Plugs and Brakes

I think you're good to go after that.
