I never thought I'd be posting this but here I am. A few days ago I sold my truck that I had so much time, money, experiences, and passion for. I have many fond memories in this truck and have camped out in the San Juan mountains for days at a time during multiple trips to Colorado.

    46CF88CC-4D51-4C63-B0A6-8F21779E117C_zps_9d8ccbf39921d9cdae4281cf68d2ef39001dc6ff.jpg

So here is the back story. For the last 6-8 months a friend of mine on the FD has been begging me to sell it too him. I flat out refused because I had no intention of ever getting rid of it. This was the truck that was going to take me to Colorado when I retire. A few days ago he made an offer that for lack of a better word... I couldn't refuse. So he cut me a cashier's check and now the truck is his. I miss it already.

I took the money that he payed me and paid cash for this for my wife since my truck only had 4 months from being paid off with some money left over.

Limited Edition FRS RS 2.0. They only made 1000 of these and it only comes in this color. She has #96 of 1000.

Inside is covered in Alcantara with leather trim and has every option available. First vehicle I've ever payed cash for.

So now my dilemma is this... I do not like the 16 body style (but I'm sure that will grow on me) and as of right now I don't trust the engine. I never buy a new redesigned vehicle the first year just so they can get the bugs worked out with them. I like the 4Runner but need a bed. But the reality of the situation is, as of right now, I don't "need" a truck. I'm leaning very heavily toward a Jaguar F Type R Coupe with AWD, 550HP S/C engine, and Carbon Ceramic Brakes ($12k option I might add) . I have no car payment now and I've always wanted something that was completely irrational and this fits the bill.

And the most beautiful exhaust note in modern times

I'll drive it for a few years then when the time comes I'll be back in a Tacoma ready for offroad in Colorado. Still in shock I sold my truck.

Get the Jag. Those are awesome. You'll love it and be back in a Tacoma in a few years.

I completely approve. Sad to hear about your truck, but as far as I am concerned... YOLO. I sat in one and absolutely connot fit in it, but I think that they are awesome. If you don't need the truck... rock on. That FR-S is damn sharp looking too! Great taste in vehicles

I'm still in shock that I sold it. I fully expect every time I walk out into my garage it will be sitting there but it's not. We test drove a Jaguar F Type a few weeks ago and I'm in love. I've mentioned in another thread that as a kid I had a poster of a Ferrari GTO on my wall. I'll never be able to afford the Ferrari that I actually want so this will be the next closest car that I can get to that kind of car.

I totally think you should get a cool car, but the jag is just not it. You can get so much car for the amount of money that thing costs....

Sure... I could get a GTR but it just doesn't hold the same appeal to me as the Jag and doesn't look 1/4 as nice. And fuck the Corvette. I love the front and side but the rear end looks like they gave up and stuck the Camaro rear end on it.

Besides... I have a fondness for British vehicles. An Aston would be my second choice but doesn't hold a candle to the raw power of the Jag.

So clearly your budget is six figures here. Go for a BMW M6?

At least you know your Taco went to someone who'll treat it right! Sounds like he really wanted it, maybe he'll let you drive it around from time to time ;)

Honestly if I were going for a BMW it would be the M3. Thing is... there are so many BMW's around I want something that no one else has.

I completely agree on all this and plus it seems like everyone has a Corvette or Camaro and no one has a Jag

The new BMW's have the fake exhaust note that plays through the speakers I couldn't get myself to get over that

Hell.... even the 6 sounds amazing.

I'm sorry... I think the Jaguar is one of the prettiest cars on the road today.

I wouldn't abandon that Aston Martin plan.
