Found out a couple weeks ago that I finally got allocated a Pro.

I put in deposits at 3 different dealers. Told one to pound sand after they tried to sell me one for $101k (dollars… it pesos). But after ascending to the top spot at another dealer back in Early Jan, I got notice of a build day of 29 July and what’s better, they are (only) charging MSRP.

Truck is coming in Lunar Rock with red interior. Factory installed accessories are the TRD air cleaner, bed mat, and chrome door edge guards (for some reason?!)

Since then I have already lined up the following:
    • Xpel stealth wrap
    • Drop off to “very popular” overlanding company to develop and prototype their new updated roof rack system
    • BD S8 lightbar, Squadron Pro ditch lights, and rock lights
    • Method 305s with 35” BFG K02s and custom TRD center caps
    • Blackvue DR750 2ch LTE camera system
    • Few interior items
    • Few exterior items

Sounds like a nice truck congratulations. I wonder what the new color for 23' will be?
I was just looking at some 2nd, and 3rd gen Tundras on the Tundra site, Methods seem popular on Tundras, rightfully so they do look good on them.

You could of had a V8, Ford is building 23' Tremors with the 5.O V8, for people who like that sort of thing. I guess, it's a profit driven decision, but the fact you can't get a Tundra, or Tundra Pro with a V8 might have something to do with that.

The Pros really only come in one configuration and you can chose between regular or trailer mirrors (same price). Only options are accessories from dealers. Toyota adds their own factory accessories to get more money out of people because they know people are paying MSRP for things right now.

I think Lunar Rock is finally replacing MGM as a standard Pro color with White and Midnight Black. Solar Octane will be a carry over for the Tundra and added to the Taco, Sequoia, and 4Runner palates. But the new Sequoia is listed as a 2023 model anyway.

As for the Ford, I got to drive one. the engine feels great but the transmission felt wonky. Also the fit and finish was horrible. Lots of plastic squeaks and when looking at the used ones, didn’t seem to hold up well to normal wear and tear.

Toyota may not be the baddest boy on the block, but when you trade it in, it will still look great and not like it’s been rode hard.

There won't be a new Pro Color for the 2023 Tundra? Solar Octane will be exclusive on the rest of the Pro line up. Might be confusing, if the Tundra is always a year ahead with exclusive color.

I like that Toyota, is offereing tow mirrors on the Pro as a factory option.

Edit: Toyotas do age well, mechanically and esthetically.

That interior is hideous though. Otherwise it will be a nice truck.

The trailer mirrors are awful, they don't adjust all the way and you end up staring at the side of the truck.

I find the screens to be a tad overwhelming but its a nice truck.

The noise induction is amazing, I'd never settle for a trim without it.

Fake engine noise put into the cabin, makes it sound like a V8. Actually sounds better than the 5.7 in my opinion.

But the base model sounds like a tacoma v6, it isnt anything special.

Did you listen to the SR engine?

The SR has a de-tuned version of the standard 3.5L. The SR5 thru Limited models have the “standard” 3.5L with better tuning.

We havent had an SR yet, I've driven everything else but hybrid so far. We've only had 2 or 3 HV so far.

The cabin noise is different, I'll try to find literature.

    Edit:

It's called Active Noise Control System.

I can't share the details on it, but maybe its in the public brochure?

Out of curiosity, how much did the XPEL stealth wrap set you back?

I hadn't noticed this before. I had to look at the brochure to verify. Very interesting. I wonder what was the point behind doing that?
