Here’s a pic of my RTL-S for others to see what it looks like and have a better idea of what they’re getting. So far it’s been a great addition to the rig. It’s performing well and withstood several power washes.

I also like how it doesn’t attract too much attention when it’s not running. Full disclosure, I did smoke the lens with laminex film to make it less noticeable.

I apologize for the 3 years delay on this question. I recently purchased the RTL-S light bar, and according to the website, it comes with the wiring harness. So all I need to purchase is 64-0130 to tap into the turn signals correct?

The tricky thing about these RTL bars is that in order for the brake to work, the running lights have to be powered. I am not sure if their harness addresses this? I have made harnesses for a couple of these lights. Nice lights, but they do leave some to be desired in the wiring department....

If you end up going the DIY route, I would use diodes to feed the red (running light) wire from the yellow (brake) wire, so the brake will function anytime. Just my $.02 though

I have my buddy working on it. I don't trust myself with anything lighting. He's following the diagram on page two unless he knows a better way. That isn't my department.

Has anyone try to mount Baja RTL light bar to the Prinsu roof rack?

That's what I was thinking about doing. Since my BAJA's in the bumper do great work I'd love to have this as an added visibility/safety feature. I'm not sure how it would look at 30 inches. I really like the features of the RTL though!

I know this is a SUPER OLD thread :anonymous:but I was hoping you could tell me what diodes you used for your install? I just got the RTL-S Thursday and started looking around before the install and see it wasn’t going to be as quick an install as I thought if I wanted it to function as you have yours. Which is what I had in mind. Thank you for your help!

Picked up this bar over the weekend, looking to install it soon.

I’m also interested in the diode method - how did y’all wire them?

I'm okay with splicing - but curious about what you're offering. Can you tell me more about your harness?

edit: especially if it plugs in between the tail light harnesses and not the trailer plug.
For that matter, I'm installing a flatbed, so if you have a solution that'll plug in to the factory tail light harness but will let me wire in the flatbed lights, I'm quite interested. Otherwise I was just going to buy a 2nd set of tail light harnesses and cut them up as needed.

These would plug in between the truck and taillight, not the trailer plug. And I just realized you have a 2nd gen? So it’s actually only one plug on each side, so I’d do it for less. If you wanted to just have one end that plugs in to the truck and the other end is just wire leads you can use for the flatbed, that’s even easier.
