    Hi Guys and Gals,

Major props to James at Pretoy for hooking me up. Plenty of power on I-10 and ECT mode is great. I will post mpgs as I get them. Also, will try to answer any q's and post pics as best I can.

Edit: awesome pics guys, love the white. White was originally my first choice!

Why on earth would you get the old I4? Just curious...

    Nice!

I like the black grill w/o the chrome surround. When you get a chance, post some pics of the "full frontal" view.

Congrats on the purchase. I almost wish I would have got the access cab, I just have no need for 4 doors.......

Congratulations! That definitely looks better than the ones with the chrome big-ass grill!

If he's happy with the power, I don't see why not. It's just about the lightest 2016 Tacoma you can get. Then there's cost and the fact that it's a well regarded motor with a long history of reliability in this application.

This. Dude just bought a new truck and he likes it. Let him enjoy it.

I didn't call him any names, I just asked why he got the old I4 vs the new 6 when it gets pretty much the same MPG

Good question. Earlier this year I test drove a 2012 regular cab with the 4 speed and could instantly tell that the 2016 6 speed gave the 2.7 new life. I also test drove the new 3.5 and figured I could always trade up if I needed to in the future. First truck so I really don't have anything to haul/tow.

    Great looking truck OP. Congratulations.

Not to mention everyone is raving about "I'll keep my reliable 1GR". Now he's got the latest features with a proven engine. Boom.

Yours and OP's trucks look great. Isn't it something that you got what you wanted and not what someone thinks you should have.

I was hoping someone would start a 3rd gen 4 cyl thread. Nice, OP, get ready for a long and fulfilling life with your truck, it won't let you down. I have done nothing but regular PM on mine and at 90,000+ miles, she's still going strong.
