Any reason you sold your 2016 3.5 DC for your 2017 DC 4 cyl?

i had some problems with my 3.5, the rear end was starting to leak and i could hear it wind and the transmission had the trypical problems talked about on here. Plus i sold it for $29k when i only paid a little over $30k for it new.

So i sold it bought a cheaper model got the old reliable 2.7 and lowered my payments about 200 a month. So it was an easy call for me, new truck cheaper payments and less for insurance.

It depends on if you want to drive it or just let it sit in your driveway and look at it. Just kidding. @Sep1911 runs 285's.. but I wouldn't do it without a regear and a lift. I run 265's and need 3rd for steeper hills. That's with 4 ply @44lbs a piece. Yours are 60lbs a piece lol.. that's like adding 1120lbs in the bed of your truck over stock lol.

Yeah the 265s in 4 ply for the falkens are 44lbs a piece, my 285 10 plys are 60 lbs

    my level 8 mk6 16x8 are 24.5 lbs a piece.

if i put the 285s on ill do 4'' maxtrac spindles and dakars in the rear, i just think its going to bog down the 2.7 way to much.

if i do the 265s ill buy scs f5 wheels that only weigh in around 19 lbs a piece and ill go with some billes and toytec or OME springs like 887 or 888

@TRDPro4x4 your the expert, you 2.7 4x4 weights 100 lbs more then my double cab, what would you do?

and yes the truck is going to be driven alot, atleast 20k miles a year lol thats why i got it!

I personally would not put 285's on a 3rd gen 2.7. If they came in 4 or 6 ply it might be an option.. but they dont. I don't know what you're going to do with your truck, but if it's mostly on road plus a few dirt roads or minor off roading, then I would go with the lightest wheel tire combo you can get. Just do your math based on the stock setup of 32lbs for tires and 28lbs for wheels roughly. I hate to see you buy another set of wheels even though you'll save 5lbs per corner which is awesome. But if you kept the mk6's @ 24.5lbs and added something like the Goodyear Wrangler Trail runners in 265/75r16 at 37lbs a piece, that would be 60lbs (32+28) stock per corner vs. 61.5lbs (37+24.5) per corner. Ifyou got the SCS F5's that would be 56lbs per corner (37lbs+19). That's like removing 160lbs of sprung weight from the stock truck.
