I know exactly the build I want: Silver AC 4cyl 5spd 4x4. I can take or leave the 16" black wheels.

As someone who buys/sells a lot of cars, and with a background in selling for dealerships, I want to play things smart and slow and wait out the initial rush of demand. By the end of the year i'll grab one up. A good friend of mine now owns a large toyota dealership and I hope to give him my business when all the cards line up. The selling price to me is something that can make or break the outlook I have with the car. In times past, when I know I overpaid, I get this tinge of regret and negativity. And when I get a car for a great price, just the inverse occurs. It's all psychological nonsense, but for someone who is as passionate about cars as I am, it's worth waiting for the right time.

What do you mean by "not available in your area"? Like, you haven't seen any, or you won't be getting any ever?

Have you considered buying from out of state? I've done that a couple times now. You just fed-ex all the paperwork back and forth. In some ways I find it easier. The negotiations certainly are. And for what it's worth, if you don't want to fly in to grab it, www.uship.com has excellent prices on shipping vehicles. I live in Maryland and have shipped cars from Seattle for $1,100. Alabama for $500. And based on your negotiation savings, you can still be ahead of the game. Most importantly, you'll get exactly what you want too.

Wowwww that's a weird surprise. I woulda thought the colorado area would be prime for the 5spd 4x4 version too.

And yeah, if I had a family, i'd be buying exactly what you bought. I'm still at the point in life where being selfish and impractical is totally ok.

Just filled up for the first time today and calculated 24.4 mpgs. I do a lot of highway driving so I am happy.

Hey guys, I was just looking as I have a 15,2.7, 4x4, 5spd, acc. This is my 2nd 2.7 taco, sold my 02 in Sept with 200000. plus miles. It ran great and had a lot of life life left, just wanted something new. That being said, this is what I think you have to look forward to. Have fun and take care of it , it will last a long time.
