The jar of clear coat was def my preference. He even sent the fine haired brush with it. Worked like a charm and i put 4 coats per cap.
    Can't even tell its there.

I have the touch up paint pen with a clear coat brush on one end. I wonder if that would work ok?

I would goto the hobby shop and invest in a nice new fine haired brush for a few bucks. The brushes on the ends of the pens are usually pretty stuff and you'll end up seeing the stroke marks. You can test it first tho since I'm not sure what you own brush looks like.
With 4 layers and 30 mins in bw coats you can see it at all. Just make sure you get all the air bubbles out when you're brushing it on

That's what I did Jareebz. I tried going over the whole thing after taping off the letters didn't come out good. It's better but still had to order a new set just like you. But I'll tell you this. It's been a few months now and they are perfect. Washed them a million times and no peeling or anything. I don't even notice the slightly different sheen on the caps only anymore. So I think spraying the whole cap is the way to go. Like I said before the ONLY bad part of it is losing those beautiful glossy letters. But that's me being picky.

Received my new caps yesterday and sprayed them this afternoon. Here's the finished product.

Off topic but I've been looking at those husky flaps. Do you have any pics from the rear view? My tires stick out past my fenders by about 3/4 inch and my stock flaps aren't keeping the mud from flying up the side. I'm not completely sold on rokbloks so I'm looking for an alternative.

What's the part number for just the center caps? (In case I need to order replacements later)

It's on the inside of the cap. Just change the xx to bk.

They cover them just enough, but i do get some splashing on the side of the truck, but nothing major. I'll snap a pic during the day.

Jarbeez, how do you take the centercaps off? do I need to remove the wheel off the truck?

Yeah. There's a metal ring with a spring holding the clips so you have to take that off before you can pop the cap off the wheel.

FWIW I spoke with the guy in my Toyota parts department. He indicated that the early wheels had issues with peeling center caps, which Toyota is warrantying. He said the problem has been addressed in an updated design. My wheels do not have recessed letters so i am guessing this is the updated design?

Do these come in 2 different shades of gray or are they all the same gunmetal color? I don't want the bright/light colored gray like my stock OR wheels. Looking for the gunmetal, but the pic on the Olathe site looks like a lighter shade.

I mistakenly posted in the other thread there we 3, but yes it is just gun metal and black. The dealer sites show it much brighter, looking at the photos on the trucks they are darker:

Check out these pics from earlier in the thread:

Perfect - thanks for clarifying. I think the gunmetal wrapped in some KO2's would go great with my BRM.

Black or the gunmetal is it.
