New 2 inch TRD Lift kit with 285/70/17 tires

    TRD Lift Kit
    Installed new TRD 2 inch lift kit with 285/70/17 Nitto Ridge Grapplers on 17X7 inch 4Runner TRD Pro wheels. Stock UCA’s. No rubbing and I didn’t have to remove my mud guards.

    full stuff with any steering will rub, I promise you. Prob not even full compression, just a significant amount. Looks good, though. What are the alignment numbers with the stock UCAs?

    UCA’s are my next mod, but here’s where I’m at with my alignment Too much toe and camber and not enough caster. What UCA would you recommend?

    Your front tires are going to wear outside edge :thumbsup: Lots of UCA’s out there. My SPC’s have been great. Great alignment adjustments to dial it in.

    Any will do, just find ones that fit your budget and then do a little research to find out about what pros/cons people with them have. I would recommend sticking with established brands, there are a few knock offs and eBay clones that might not have the same quality and craftsmanship as the originals... But again, doing some research should get your info to make an informed decision.

    That alignment is pretty bad. Lots of camber and some toe. Might chew up your tires like 71 said. Not much caster, either. UCAs should get that sorted

    That alignment is perfect for stock UCA and oversized tires. You can't do much better than that.

    More toe is needed when oversized tires are on as they push outwards, its not way over, its just a touch more toe.

    Big tires push harder out, so toe in makes them drive like factory settings. Toe wears negative with these trucks as well.

    I always find Toyotas with negative toe on checks.

    Bigger tires tend to toe out while driving, hence bigger trucks usually have more toe stock.

    Once these trucks are lifted factory specs can get thrown in the garbage IMO :anonymous:

    '20 TRD Sport Previous - '14 Prerunner Access Cab
    Just rotate and align ever 5k or so and you'll be fine. 8 years, '14 and '20 Tacos with 3" lift and 285's and my tires wore/wear even on both vehicles with stock UCAs. Also realign if you hit a curb/big pot hole or if you go romping off road obviously.

    Stuff and things
    think of your wheels and tires as a giant lever that pushed backwards on the control arms when driving. The wider the tires and lower offset wheels cause the tires to push back which causes the tires to toe out while driving. Tires that start with a little positive toe or toe in ideally get to a 0 toe while driving. Starting with too little toe ends up leading to toe out. The exception is when you go to full heim/uniball components.

    @buckeyedeano I have similar setup as yours except that my Rhinos are 17X9 on TRD lift kit. I have to remove my front mud guards due to some rubbing. So far so good.

    Hey @buckeyedeano and @N3FOLMike what offset are you both running? Have you done anything yet to test the rubbing clearance off road or at full turn? I have the TRD lift kit ordered and so I'm looking at getting the DX4 Rebel 16x8 +10mm and some KO2 285/75R16 but I'm also worried about rubbing.

    I am running OEM 4Runner TRD Pro SEMA wheels. They are narrow at 17X7 and have +4mm offset, but they give me plenty of clearance from UCA, cab mount and fender liners (parking lot speed forward and reverse) full lock both ways with mud flaps installed.

    Was a CMC required for the 33" and 2" lift? I got a shop saying i will need with 1.5" billstein lift with new UCA and 1.5 AAL in rear .. is that true for a 3rd gen?
