last night i test drove a leftover 2007 offrd 4x4...
man it was all beat up!!!

The grill has scuff marks, the carpets were dirty, and I was driving the higway, the steering wheels were shaking... and the tire monitor system is on

I was like.. why is the steering wheel was shaking so bad... and the sales guy said he thinks is the tire low... and I said... either it needs new tires or you need realignment... or maybe it was used for plowing!!

I couldn't believer how bad it was!

One too many test drives by people trying to "see what this baby can do"?

haha! yeah, i'm glad i got my truck before it hit the lot and got test driven by jackasses like me. When i drove a TRD sport i wanted to "see what this baby can do" i wanted to see how the 4 wheel drive worked while cornering, i tested the acceleration many many times, and i wanted to see how fast the TRD suspension would let me go over the "bumps" in neighborhoods (apparently pretty freakin fast!). Thats what they get for letting me drive it without the sales guy in the truck with me. It was just me and a buddy and we drove it like we stole and with the sole intention of breaking it. Anyway, the sales guy was cool and after about a month i ended up going back and asking for him since he was cool about the test drive and never bugged me afterwards.

Themaster: That term is also frequently used in Frat houses :)

Some of the cars and trucks are also used by employees. Some of the higher ups get a company vehicle and they can choose. That could have been one?

I am now thinking of changing jobs. ;)

"Yeah, I will take the TRD Off-Road 4x4 DoubleCab with the 3" lift and ARB bumper that we got last week. I just need to make sure that it's sale worthy. Yeah."

I had my choice of 3 to test drive, all had just 3 miles on them.

Of coarse I took the Impulse Red Perl for an impulse buy.

DUDE! Seriously, what the heck does 200 miles mean? Who cares? Its still new! Probably a trade from another dealer and it was driven to that dealer.
Or it was a possible loaner for 1 week.

My 1996 GTi Vr6 was a trade from a dealer in Wisconsin for a Passat. When I took ownership of it, it had 302 miles on it. Had her for 11 years, never had a problem, and she was perfect when I traded her in for my Taco.

A few hundred miles means nothing. If it has 12000+ miles then Id want some incentive to buy it.

    Just my 2 cents.

Damn! that is a FINE GTI!!! I love the dual rounds!

I had an 89 1.8 (N/A) and an 88 GTI 16valve. I miss those cars. So much fun to drive. That 1.8 was bomb proof!

Thanks! yup! VWs ROCK! Pretty much bullet proof!
I was spaking rice boys and girls, rustangs, and most other cars on the road
if I was so inclined. I never tried a Corvette or Viper, I'm smarter then that.

I won several local cars shows with "Gina", several times for "best paint".
She was perfect! Sometimes I miss her, she was SOOOO much fun to drive.:(

Yeah, my last was a 98' Jetta TDI - Jet Black. 50 MPG, power, reliability (over 200K)... Speaking of missing a vehicle. :(

Yeah, my baby just had 58,000 original miles on her. (Thats not a typo)
I only drover her in summer. Kept her in a heated garage, on stock wheels with
snows tires on car dollies so I could roller her around my garage if I needed too.

Raced her at Gingerman, Road America and smaller local Auto-Cross events.
It was a bullet for normally aspirated.

She had over $12,000 in high perfomance parts and toys.
    So Fun! :D

Mine had 5 miles on it , and was made in April on the 7th 2007. I got the Black because as the silver and speedway blue are all that is left now. I got it August 19th 2007.-Rich [IMG]

I bought an 08 a few weeks ago. They drove it down from PA to MD and put some miles on it -- actually about 50. I was a little peeved. Figured it would be less than 10 miles and they would truck it down. However, I wanted a specific model with options and the sales guy got it in the time frame needed. The Tacoma rides like a dream compared to my FJC MT6. It is our car of choice for all outings... sometimes overkill...but I am very pleased thus far. Looking at the frame welds compared to the FJC, its incredible - so much better and cleaner on all the joints. I chose the Silver over other bright colors because I was driving the yellow FJ and it was so loud - I needed a change... :)

200 miles for a car off the showroom floor thats not right.. Just pass on it. or make them give u a VERY good deal on it and fix everything or move on to the next dealership..

I had almost 300 miles on mine but that was because they transported it from another dealership. That is the ONLY reason i would buy a new car with that many miles. Unless it was transfered it was used for test drives, and evreyone knows how abusive test drives are. 200 miles of test driving is hell on an engine.
