New 2008 Taco Headlights!!

I ordered a pair of new headlights a few days ago for my 2008 Taco. I tried have the current ones refinished but I wasn't thrilled with the outcome. So I found a pair of brand new OEM headlights on ebay for $180 each, when the Toyota dealer wanted $300. Cant wait to get them on, really going to make the truck look almost brand new.

I got a coupon on them so thats what brought them to $180

 

Sweet just figured I would have you post it in case someone else wanted some.

 

Only problem is that he is out of stock, guess I bought the last 2 LOL! Plenty of others on there though, you can also look for just the housing instead which is cheaper (doesnt include bulbs and such). Part number on just the housing is Left 81170-04163 Right 81130-04163.

 

Since these are old stock, don't run incandescent bulbs in them if you have DTRL.

So did I get a older set of headlights that are defective then?? I got the part numbers right off the Toyota parts website.

 

Older, yes. Defective? Well... only if you use incandescent bulbs and have DTRL. See that 1" diffuser in the middle of the turn signal lense? That means that they are the plastic lenses that melt if they get too hot. The later lenses are glass and don't have that 1" difuser.

 

Okay my Taco doesn't have DTRL, it has off-on and auto, auto just comes on at night and off during the day. Im currently running the original bulbs that came in the headlight, other then the headlight itself I put in NAPA Night Vision bulbs.
