Canadian version is basically the same as the US. Just a few differences, TSB is done, and we really don't have a whole lot of packages available from the factory like the US. Oh yeah, we can get factory leather...

    No hockey attachments either.

in canada you can only choose a few "setups"

double cabs are only available in base or TRD Sport models. And you can only get a long bed with an auto tranny and a short bed with a manual tranny.

Off Road you can only get it on the access cab.

We have leather+heated seat package that can be put on top of the TRD Sport.

I took pictures of mine this morning I'll post them up.

not true. well not entirely. It depends on the province.

I was looking at the truck in Quebec and it was MSRP, NO deal possible.

I bought it now that I live in Alberta and paid way less than MSRP (and one tax) but it's still less negotiable than in the US. The canadian prices MSRP are not far off the US ones when you factor in exchange, but now that the exchange rate is better, it could be worth it to buy south of the border.

X2 - though if you're determined enough, you can get them to toss in some extras. I managed to get them to throw in the $575 side step bars, and even that was a hassle to get. I looked at picking up a regular cab (which I also wish they offered here) from Washington, but with the exchange rate at the time it would have cost the same as my access cab. Plus I didn't really like the colors they had in at the time.

You don't pay MSRP in Canada if you do some research. Find out from the APA or CarCost what the dealer wholesale price is. Go to Black Book and get a general price on your trade in. Get your financing lined up prior to going shopping. Print out a spreadsheet or some other list. Add 2.5 or 3% over the dealer wholesale, subtract your trade and come up with the price you want to pay. Show it to the salesperson. If they don't want to sell at that price, walk over to another salesperson in the same dealership if you have to. Everything is negotiable...got $140 off the Freight /PDI price. Watch out for dealer add ons like admin fee or registration fee...goes straight to their bottom line.

This myth that you will pay MSRP in Canada is nuts....have yet to pay MSRP for any vehicle bought here and that includes 3 Toyotas in the last 5 years.

    Try this in Quebec.

I can bet that you won't get anything. There is not a single dealer thatw ills ell you 1$ below MSRP. They can give you some deal on accessories, but even then you have to deal hard.

Alberta you can deal quite a lot, but they sell 100 Tacomas for one sold in Quebec hehe

I am paying under MSRP for my 09 Double Cab Long Bed in Canada. Picking it up next week. A friend set me up with the sales manager who he has dealt with for many years.
