Hello all, I'm trying to figure out how to get an auxiliary input for my tacomas radio. The radio it had when I bought it was the single disc stock unit and I got a great deal for one from a 2011 with a 6 disc changer, and mp3/wma playback. Now I'm looking for info on how to input through a 3.5mm jack.

Any advice would help. I can upload photos if necessary.

Looking on ebay and found a 3.5 Male to usb female adapter. I know the 3.5 male fits our Aux input because I have an audio device that has that size output. Don't drive the 11 Taco enough to justify a new radio but want to play tunes off my usb stick. Sent a question to the seller to determine if it will work. Will advise if they reply.

There is a write up on how to install a 3.5mm headphone jack on here. Search for it.

I looked on all of the forum and found no such write up. I found them for the single disk radio, the multi disk radio, but none for the multi disk mp3 radios.

The issue is that I don't have a port to connect to the 3.5mm jack. There is a weird port in the back under the antenna, but I don't know what connects there. I was looking online and I found one of the outlets to add to my truck in an accessory blank, but I couldn't find a cable for it.

There is a thread on it here, also you have to open the back of the deck and solder into it. You're better off buying an aftermarket HU. It will sound better too.

The adapter finally arrived. Plugged in a usb stick, then the adapter to the 3.5 jack. Nothing happened. Whatever is plugged in the jack must be powered. I'll continue to plug in my Sansa player in the jack. The adapter cost less than $3 shipped. Worth it to see if it would work.
