I think you may be but I am unsure! I have had a credit card since the age of 18. Ever since then, I ave been putting between $50-$500 a month on the card and as soon as the bill comes I pay it....if not before! I also have a Belks credit card and it is the same way. I have a cell phone in my name(not sure if this helps) and the banks tell me I have amazing credit for a 20 year old!!!!!!

Sweet! Most people your age have "no credit" and usually need a co-signer. Let us know how you do.

This is the truck I purchased at the end of May. The only thing extra on it (that I didn't want) was the floor mats which I replaced with Weather techs from a group buy here!! $29,600 before tax / lic. here in CA. It took about a month to get this color with those options. They were scarce in my state.

You need a 640 Experian or Equifax (cant remember which one) to qualify. I know becasue I had a 640 Experian score... exactly the minimum to qualify.

I'd say just go with a 2010, unless you love the look of the 2011 grille and you'd probably pay more anyway for a 2011. I got a really good deal on my 2010 since my dealer is trying to clear some of the lot to get ready for the 2011's.

Go to http://www.bankrate.com/calculators/auto/auto-loan-calculator.aspx fo help with the payment calculations.

    Based on 24,000 financed:

    0% @ 36 months = $667 per month. Total finace cost= 0
    2.9% @ 48 months = $530 per month. Total finance cost = $1440
    3.9% @ 60 months = $441 per month. Total finance cost = $2460

My humble advise to you is that if you really want this truck it would pay to take advantage of the Toyota interest rates on a 2010 as Yota doesn't offer them too often. If you can afford $667 per month then free money is always good, otherwise take the 60 months and promise yourself to put an additional $100 in a savings account each and every month and by the time you are 45 years old you will be buying cars for CASH MONEY (very liberating)!

    Good luck!

I just bought a 2010 Pre-Runner DCLB with the TRD Sport Package, Towing, Daytime, and mats for $25100 OTB outside of Charlotte in Rock Hill(btw, my SC tax was only $300). I negotiated with over 12 dealers and no one else would come within $1000 of this price, even the folks in Atlanta and Augusta who are known to have good deals. I also tried to use the USAA and Costco programs and still could not get a better deal.

If you add the invoice price difference between the 2wd and 4wd of $2819, adding that to my deal would be $27919 + NC tax +Bluetooth +satellite. $28,000 at 3.9% for 60 months will put you over $500/month.

I have been shopping for over a year for new truck. Toyota has only had cash and financing incentives at the end of model year for the Tacoma. Right now, there is a $750 cash incentive that is not listed on Edmunds along with the financing incentives. The financing incentives aren’t that great. I got 60 months at 2.89% from Bank of America. I think you can get under 3.9% for 60 with them too.

I don’t know if I would wait until Aug/Sept. Long beds are rare, TRD Sport 4x4 LB are rarer.

Reason I am waiting till August is so that I can put down a good amount! And still have some left over for emergencies! But if worst come to worst and it looks like I will not be able to find one! I will just order a 2011 from a deal! But that is worst case scenario!

For every $1000 you put down, you save about $100 in finacing cost at 3.9% for 60 months. You will likely end up paying more by waiting for 2011 and not having a good bargaining position. How much are you trying to save up?

I want to put atleast 3000 or 4000 down! And have 3000 or 4000 left for emergencies! And I am close to my goal
