my 2013 tacoma 2.7 5 speed clutch pedal always gets stuck no matter the temperature. Shifting is smooth though. On its own the pedal does not return to top. I need to pull it up with my foot. I got fed up with it and bought it into service. After holding my truck for a week, they installed a new pedal assembly and returned me the truck. It worked great that one day, and the next morning it was back to the same issue. Now i am stuck waiting 4 days till my next appt with service. I told them that it was a safety issue because the clutch gets stuck sometimes and they did not care. btw my truck has 19,800 miles and i bought it brand new january 2013.

This is exactly what I've determined too. I have a 2013 Access Cab, V6, 6-speed MT and have noticed the transmission feels like garbage compared to my 2004 WRX STI. It clunks whenever I shift between gears, particularly when downshifting into 3rd and upshifting from 1st to 2nd. I've also noticed a lot of tense energy in the driveline when in 1st and if I push in on the clutch too quickly I hear the driveline unloading and 'snapping'.

I have to shift MUCH slower both in how quickly I put it into gear and how I engage and disengage the clutch to get smooth shifts than I do with my STI.

In the end I'm not surprised. It's a truck and not a sports car, but I really am not thrilled about driving a manual truck. If I didn't buy it used I would have definitely got an auto new.
