    Hey, gang.

Found one with pretty much everything I want on it. Any of you gurus willing to take a minute and add up the options and tell me what I should offer and/or a price I should realistically expect to settle on for it? I'd sure as heck appreciate it. Thank you, thank you!

32k is too High. I paid 30k for my 2015 with the Offroad package. I would shoot for 28k or lower.

$32k for a double cab short bed trade sport 4x4 is pretty spot on. atlas down here in florida. the Offroads are about an extra $1-1,500. id say offer around 29 and work up but that price alone is pretty spott on

^^^ second that being a reasonable price. I paid 33k for my 15 off road. If you could get it for less than 32 do it but 32 itself wouldn't be a bad deal

    I paid $29k for a 2012 w/ 10k miles in June 2013.

2016s are about to start hitting the lot. First redesign in 10 years. Buy a 2015 if that's what you want, but I wouldn't pay more than 200 over invoice at this point for a 2015.

As always, the "secret" to getting a good deal on a car is to

    1. use online tools to know the dealer invoice cost,
    2. negotiate via email with the fleet manager.
    3. (this is a relatively new step in the process) If, as is increasingly likely, they call/email later and say "oops, we made a little mistake on the price" - you politely say "I'm very sorry to hear that, but I've got a signed contract and that's your problem not mine."

If you walk onto the lot not knowing what you want or how much you should pay, and you'll be devoured by the sharks.

To get the price for 1, use cars.com or edmunds.com. You'll have to sharpen up your pencil and break out your calculator.

Thanks a bunch so far, folks. I know of NO dealership that marks their lowest price right off the bat, so there's no way I'm paying what they're asking. Just wondering how to figure out how much they paid Toyota for it.

Check out True Car. Really helps finding out what others paid in your area.

How much more would I pay for the same truck as a 2016 versus a 2015?

Problem with the 2016 is they will all be priced at MSRP or higher and people will likely be paying that. Won't be a whole lot of wiggle room. But you might get lucky depending on how are good you are at haggling!

I bought my 2015 and found out that is was the same cost as the average buyer paid on Edmunds.
    And the dealers know that.
Edmunds gives you the average cost for your region and the percentage of people that pay the going rate. Different parts of the country will differ a bit.

Yeah, that's what I figured. There likely won't be many "bargains" on 2016s. Too much demand at first. Thanks, everyone. I'm thinking if I can get that truck for $31,500 I'll be happy.

Just do your research, Edmunds, true Car, KBB. Buy smart and you will get a good price! Good luck!

As others have said, thats a hefty price tag for a base. Use the 16s as ammunition, I walked out the door with a TRD OR 4x4 DCSB for $29500 in 2013, Def come at them and get that price down

If this is before TT&L, I would offer no more than 31,000. No way would I budge. This is a base, near the 2016 release. The 2016 will cost more and there will be very little haggle room. I was offered $2000 off before any stronger haggling. Got another $300 off, plus they threw in the all season mats along with the carpeted mats that came with vehicle. I think if I had waited another day or two I could have got a little more off. They only one that suited my taste and did not want to chance passing on it. There was only one other dealer that had what I was looking for and it was in Black. Do not care for Black, personally! I had no trade in and paid cash. The Tacoma is a hard vehicle to get a great deal on. The used ones also hold their value well.

The page is screwy the title says base the nomenclature is for a TRD Sport and the photos are of a TRD Sport the price listed is reasonable for a Sport. However if the truck is in fact a base model then the price is horrible.
