Picked up my new 2015 MGM Tacoma TRD Sport that's been on order since July Saturday! It was supposed to have the trailer tow pkg. on it but didn't. The guy who ordered it wasn't there so I couldn't get much info. I am wondering if they can add the pkg. at the dealership. Including the cooler?:(

If it's on the paperwork but not on the truck take it to the dealer and make them install it

There is a lot involved with the factory tow package
    ow Package:
    1. Toyota factory Class IV hitch
    2. 7-pin trailer harness and socket.
    3. 7-pin to 4-pin adapter.
    4. Pre-wired for an add-on trailer brake controller.
    5. Transmission oil cooler.
    6. Engine oil cooler.
    7. 130 amp alternator (20/30 amps over standard alt.)
    8. Larger battery.

The trailer tow package is not included with the TRD Sport trim level?

    Clazzio seat covers,
If you ordered it ... and they (the dealership) accepted it ... and the paperwork supports it ... BAM ... have them order a new one ... as stated above there is a lot involved ... I would want it to be factory installed.

    Oh ya ... congratulations.

I thought this too until a few weeks ago. Someone brought it to my attention that it's an option on the sport TRD, not sure about the offroad. If you read whats included in the package, it does say optional tow package.

I've never seen any TRD without a tow package though.

Yea I wouldn't want a dealership Doing that much work, when they can't even get paper work done correctly. Factory installed is the way to go. Good luck and I hope your paper work says it's supposed to be there

Here in Canada the tow package is standard on anything over the SR5 trim.

Same here, never seen a TRD/OR, let alone a Sport without it? If I've ever seen one without the Tow pkg, it was a base or SR5.

It is included in the cheaper Sport trim pkg. But if you get the more expensive pkg. with navigation it's not! Go figure that out! But it was included on the form when I ordered it.

Well I guess I will find out tomarrow! I have the paperwork to support what I ordered, but I also know what kind of weasels the dealership can be! Just hoping they will make it right and also that I wouldn't have to wait 3 months for another one.

You took delivery of a Tacoma without knowing if it had the towing package? What is missing, to make you believe it doesn't have the tow package?

Well it doesn't have a hitch or light plug. And no money has changed hands yet. I am driving it right now because they wanted me to take it for the weekend. So I guess you can't say I took delivery yet.

    Clazzio seat covers,

That being the case ... get what you want ... unless they eat crow and knock BIG $$$ off the agreed price.

But really ... bottom line ... don't settle for less.

I would get the tow Package.
Would suck if you had to wait for another truck.

Tow package was an option on my TRD Sport, but the dealers here order it on every truck.

I can't figure the math ... ... and I'm an school administrator.

    Receiver = $450

Tow Package = $650 which includes Class IV receiver, oil cooler, transmission cooler (AT), beefed up battery, 130-Amp alternator, Trailer-Sway Control, 7 pin connector with convertor.

Go to your local dealership with $200 cash money and have them add on the extras ...

Sounds like you are holding the upper hand in this deal! Take it back and tell them that the truck wasn't EXACTLY what you ordered, and make sure they either install the tow package or get you something that has it BEFORE you sign anything.

Since they will probably have to sell the truck you are driving around as "used" or "demo" at a discount if they don't play ball, you should be able to get what you want.

Any pix of your new ride?
