    2016 Double Cab Long Bed 4x4 SR5
New to this thread. Just picked up my 2016 double cab 4x4 SR5. Was a previous owner of a 2002 tacoma until I sold it (regret) to make way for my wife's new car. Waited patiently for this model. Bought the long bed as I like to sleep in the back and put skis, surfboard in there. Just went to Campways to get some quotes on shells. Think I'm going with the Snugtop Rebel with a full BedRug inside (my dog will like it as well as I). Anyways, before I bought this truck I spent a lot of time on this thread and I love the passion. Come spring I'm taking my dog out to Utah and I'm beyond stoked to explore again. Also going to start researching the road up to Alaska from Nor Cal. Cheers and thanks for all the info from this community.

I'm bucking the system, very nice SR6! Sport Rally 6 speed. If Toyota started putting V8's in trucks would they still call it a V6, I think not. Enjoy your trip to Utah, my dogs love my truck too.

I think the step bars might make it look a little low to the ground. I took this down to Big Sur on Wednesday on a couple of dirt roads that were just more than slightly slippery after our recent norcal rains and it handled perfectly. It's hard to comment on whether the TRD would be better. I'll let the experts comment on that. I'm not sure even as a relative novice that I could switch on crawl control and feel comfortable.
