NEW! (2016+) Toyota Tacoma Exhaust System

I am in Orange County. Have you tried to eliminate the y pipe by doing a dual in single out muffler? Worked well and sounded great on my old frontier.

I for one don't have a problem with it sounding like a Japanese sports car... That's basically what it is.

If you are looking for "muh truck sound" go buy a Silverado and put Flowmasters on it.

I didn't want to spend $1k on exhaust (guessing here...) but I may have to after hearing this.

 

Main reason is low end torque. Making everything equal is definitely less disruptive to the flow than when it is unequal.

 

Tailpipes are done and we have a jumpstart on building fixtures.

We’re designing the fixtures so that we can build duals or single exhaust in the same fixtures.

We will be able to add cats, mufflers, or be straight pipes for mid pipes. We can also build your mid pipes if you send them to us.

When fixtures are done tomorrow (hopefully) we are going to add mufflers to the x pipe section, the tailpipes caused a bit of rasp that isn’t pleasant, then we will analayze the sound one more time to determine what frequency we need to get rid of to cut back the drone.

After that I’m going to throw a curveball at KTJO4x4 and build a single exhaust with equal length Y pipe to see if we can get even better low end torque

We are slightly ahead of schedule as of now there’s a few things to overcome, but so far 98% of the project has gone exactly as planned!!!

 

You want to keep mufflers and y or x pipe separated. By making the muffler do both jobs the flow is disrupted and low end torque is lost.

Fixtures are done and Catback has mufflers. They were also test driving it more this afternoon/evening!
