I don't know if anyone has the right answer, but my thought is that by leaving the truck there the dealership cannot claim in any way you "accepted" the truck and in essence "it is fixed" and use that against you. I hope you get justice in this.

I am appalled that everyone involved is willing to take your money for a defective product.

Unethical doesn't begin to describe their behavior. I think we should inform and lobby as many members here to write letters, tweet, FB them, Toyota and the Toyota community. A major influence in purchasing my Toyota is their reputation of "reliability". This is a permanent stain against that reputation in my book.

Wow I never would have expected this with Toyota. Good luck with the hearing. Hopefully they will make it right then.
My mom had a tough time with the Forester which I now own but Subaru was always great getting things fixed. They even fired the tech that said the valve cover gaskets weren’t leaking but spread RTV over the leak right before the warranty was going to expire.

I dont know if you have a lawyer or not but if you do, I would not do anything without consulting him/her.

like other's have said, if you haven't, contact a good lawyer immediately. DO NOT do anything until they advise you to do so.

    good luck with the hearing!

by the way, the money you will spend on an F150 you may not be happy with it either. Ford is VERY proud of their trucks and their prices are outrageous. I have owned 5 F150's since 2000, and won't buy another one. just my .02...

Please don't confuse an independent company that contracts with Toyota to sell their cars with Toyota proper. They are not the same thing.
I feel for the OP and the problems he has had with the dealer. Who truly knows what the dealer told Toyota.

Did you buy the truck at Toyota of Cleveland? They’ve always done me right.

Nope sure didn't . I did buy the one before and several others from them. They didn't have a quicksand and I had called them about one several times. Bought it from capital toyota and was assured I could service it anywhere.
They absolutely are not treating me anywhere near right.

I’ve always had the experience that you can service anywhere, I’m not sure when it comes to having problems with the truck though. Have you contacted capital?

The same referred mat clips toy cleve wanted me to drive without and come back later to stop the day count toward 30

What a f-in nightmare man. In case you still wanna go the f150 route, my dad has had the twin turbo 3.5 and 2.7(currently 2.7) and he'll go back to the 3.5 if he gets another one. The 2.7 is great on fuel but as soon you tow anything over 1500lbs it drops to like 12mpg or less. And you can really feel it. They were both great trucks IMO. If I have to drop the taco because of kids, I will probably get one.

I see what you’re saying. I don’t see how Capital can’t do anything since you bought it from them, but the ball has been dropped at Cleveland for sure. Hate to hear that, hopefully everything works out for you and corporate makes it right

Capital didn't refuse to accept the truck. I took it to the dealer in my home town because it's much closer.

if the carpet is all taken out it might dry out ok then. see how it goes after its done.

If its a windshield leak I'm surprised they dont just redo the windshield. Considering a windshield is only about $600 I feel they are spending more money paying someone to try and find a leak.

    EDIT:
Just read through the whole thread

    what a cluster fuck.
Hate how there's dealers like this out there.

I know the one right by me has a great rating online yet lied to me about performing work. When I told corporate about it and said how I have video proof they never took the truck into the service bay just drove it and then said cant replicate, corporate said they would be speaking to the manager who's the one that lied to be about performing the work.

I no longer go there obviously.
Don't let this discourage you from Toyota though dude. They're great trucks and no matter who dealer you go with and make whether ford, GM, or dodge. They all have bullshit dealers like this. And not all the trucks from toyota are like this.
