Come on man, your 2nd gen isn't that ugly.......well, maybe it is, but it is still a Tacoma- so be happy about that at least.

:gossip: That was a 3rd gen description. :hattip:

Besides, my better looking 2nd gen is still just a lowly 5 lug. Exactly what I wanted.

Like I said, just be happy it's a Tacoma. And remember, looks aren't everything....but you obviously know that already.

Thank goodness it was water and not carbon monoxide leaking. I would be livid.
    Check it thoroughly !

The Tacoma seems to be plagued by numerous bizarre issues coming out of San Antonio and Tijuana.

You have this huge hole in the firewall and your not curious on how it got there and where it is? Why don't you ask service to show you this hole and take some pictures. I'm thinking it's damage the dealer has done to the truck and is passing it on to you. There is no way that something like a hole in the firewall would get through the factory. This might explain why they are reluctant in getting a new carpet under warranty. I would be calling Toyota corporate.

Because most dealers don't have body shops. They fix mechanical defects. Granted a hole in the firewall from the factory is a defect, it's something a good body shop need to look at.

It's just bizarre. Left it with them Monday and now I see the point of needing to see what's up with the hole. I'll see about getting pics and posting them.

Was it a hole that was supposed to be there and a plug was missing/falling out or component wasn't sitting right? Or is there a hole that shouldn't be there?

    Big difference.

If they replace the carpet and padding more than likely you will be fine and shouldn’t have any further issues related to their giant hole screw up
I would raise hell to get the carpet and padding replaced, if they don’t consider lawyering up as a last resort
Do you know why all lawyers wear necktie’s ?
It’s to keep their fore skin from covering their faces

Hope everything works out for you Good Luck

I would do some research on where the hole is and how they’re going to fix it. Toyota has incorporated a lot of high strength steels in cab construction. Which means you can ruin the crashworthiness if you start welding on it. Usually, the whole part has to be replaced which can mean additional panels/parts have to be replaced. Just my 2cents.

Well Tacomaworld seems to be "plagued" by members that shit post the same drivel in numerous threads- bad mouthing Tacomas even though they apparently don't own one-

Sorry about the troubles with your truck OP, certainly don't want to thread jack. Hope you get satisfactory resolution.

I’ve never wanted to see a hole as much as I want to see this one. So many questions.

Honestly OP don't even take it back. It's kind of outrageous that you have that kind of a defect on a brand new truck. Who knows the integrity of the rest of that thing. Trade it in for a shiny new one and make them take the loss.

I haven't been this excited to see pictures of a hole since I was 13.
