Nothing really surprises me anymore, especially since I've been on the 3rd Gen forum, anyway that works for me.

Well ,went to the body shop. They let me in and told me the low down. Body shop thinks the windshield is the culprit for leak . So there is no big hole in the firewall like I was told by service advisor.
They still have not found source of leak. Fenders and hood were never removed like I was told and most of the I nterior is gone .
Toyota still will not authorize a new carpet kit. I'm not going to do mold and will have an independent lab mold test the interior after I get it back. Worthless pics inbound. No hole. Sorry for getting yalls hopes up ,hole watchers. 20180514_114446.jpg

Hopefully they figure out the source of the leak.

Mods: Is this still a Tacoma?

Whatchu talking bout Willis...I see a bunch of holes in this pic, no wet leaky holes though, however, there are some a$$holes lurking in this thread...if anyone was looking for some sort of hole.

On a serious note, in the back of my mind I couldn’t imagine a “hole” mysteriously appearing in the firewall...I was skeptical of the body shops diagnosis...glad I was right, but sucks when no one can figure out the source. Make sure the dealer doesnt chalk it up as a “could not recreate” to wiggle out of warranty, because I’d hate for your truck to be torn up twice...that’s been done to me in the past and I cringe at that sight because all I see are rattles galore...

Toyota is the culprit for the hole diagnoses and yes that's supposed to be there.
The situation was made worse because toyota tech sent the truck out to a body shop and the information I was originally given was 3rd party.
The body shop did not have good things to say about toyotas local service. As he said they had asked for the parts the dealer has to my truck to be delivered to the shop several times and as of yet to be delivered. .hopefully they find the source of leak ,patch it and install new carpet. This really sucks and I hate this damn dodge rental that smells like 92 high tar extra cancer ciger-dicks.

I thought the cab along with the firewall was a carry over from the 2ng and wouldn't be subject to odd factory deformities.

So now we are back to a hole in the fire wall . Service mgr says that under the windshield there is a very small place where windshield meet fire wall that has said hole . Pin hole as it was just described . Toyota was able to Make it leak from this area by applying soap and water with some pressure behind it. Idk.
not looking good . The clock started at 8am last Monday. So it's day 8 .

I think this thread is going to end up to be hundreds of pages with it all ending with Toyota or dealer telling the OP he is SOL and to go pound sand.

    I hope I'm wrong......:notsure:
